A piece of Edward Bays history…

As part of our ongoing review of company records and archives, we recently uncovered evidence that Edward Bays dates back as far as 1896.

This means that 2026 marks our 130th year in service.

For over a century, Edward Bays has continued to evolve, supporting domestic, commercial and industrial clients with mechanical engineering, heating, plumbing, air conditioning, renewable technologies, servicing and maintenance.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing some of the fascinating documents, photographs and discoveries we’ve uncovered along the way, providing a glimpse into the history of the company and how it has developed through the generations.

Enhancing Water Quality Through Aeration & Circulation.

Not every project involves boilers and plant rooms.

We’re currently undertaking works to improve water quality and circulation across a multi-lake system, combining pumping, aeration, and fountain installations to promote healthier water conditions and improve the overall appearance of the lakes.

The project includes:

Installation of a new submersible transfer pump.

Approximately 450m of underground pipework connecting the lake systems.

Aeration compressor installation with future-proofed connections across multiple lakes.

New floating fountain installation.

By increasing water movement and introducing dedicated aeration, the system will help improve oxygen levels, support water quality, and create an attractive focal point within the landscape.

A great afternoon at Basset Down Complex with some of the Edward Bays team enjoying a bit of foot golf in the sunshine as part of a team building afternoon.

A big thank you again to all of our engineers and staff for their continued hard work, dedication and commitment across our projects and reactive works. Days like this are always a good opportunity to step away from site for a few hours and enjoy some healthy competition together.

Safe to say the competitive spirit was well and truly on show… along with a few questionable football skills.

A well deserved afternoon and great to get some of the team together outside of the day to day works.

From concept through to installation, good progress being made on a local project currently on site.

Our scope includes full mechanical design development through to delivery, featuring booster set installation, multiple bathrooms, radiators, underfloor heating, and a bespoke plant room package.

A well-rounded project with plenty of detail involved, and one we look forward to sharing further progress on as works continue.
