🔥 BURNT ORANGE BEAUTY 🔥
Let’s take a moment to appreciate these absolute GEMS – Geum in full fiery glory! Perfect for bringing bold colour to your borders without the drama (well, apart from the colour 💁‍♀️)

🌿 Why I’m obsessed:
✨ Adds instant zing to herbaceous borders
🧡 That burnt orange makes purples, blues & pinks POP
💃 Long flowering = all summer vibes
💪 Pollinator magnet – the bees are OBSESSED

🌱 Where to plant:

Sunny spots (they LOVE the sun ☀️)

Middle of borders for height and structure

Pair with salvia, nepeta, alliums or foxgloves for major colour combos

🛠 How to look after them:

🥤 Keep them well watered in dry spells

✂️ Deadhead to keep those blooms coming

💨 Like good airflow, so don’t overcrowd

🌱 Divide clumps every few years to keep them strong and floriferous

📸 Want borders like this?
Come follow me for garden tips, honest plant reviews and no-fluff gardening advice (with a side of sarcasm and glam ✨)

📸💁‍♀️ Be honest... when you see these pics, do you think: “That’s a hardcore gardener”..or do you think I’ve just popped out of a beauty salon and got lost in the herbaceous border? 😅

Spoiler alert:
✅ I’ve run my own gardening business since 2012
✅ I know my fennel from my feverfew
✅ I’ve mixed more cement than most builders
✅ And yes, I’m still pulling leaves out my bra at the end of the day 🌿😂

✨ If you love a garden that’s bursting with colour, wildlife, humour, and a bit of honesty—you’re in the right place!

📣 NOW TAKING ON NEW CLIENTS!
I’ve got a fab new team member, which means we’ve opened up more spaces in the Wiltshire area to take on new gardens! 🙌

🥵✂️ GLAM? BABE, THIS IS SWEATY, STICKY, AND SPIREA SNIPPING! ✂️🥵
It’s not all sunshine and selfies out here—today I’m melting in the heat hacking back a Spirea like it owes me money 🔥😂

🌸 Why we cut it back?
Because those fluffy blooms are DONE. If you want a second flush or just don’t want your garden looking like a faded blow-dry... you’ve got to deadhead it!

🌿 The perks of a summer Spirea trim:
✂️ Encourages more flowers (yes please 🌸)
🌱 Keeps it looking tidy, not scruffy and sad
🌼 Some varieties will reflower if you’re lucky and loving!

💦 Pro tip: Give it a bloody good soak after the cut – she’s thirsty after all that effort!

🎀 And no, gardening isn’t always cute outfits and floaty dresses. Sometimes it’s mud, sweat and… hedge clippings down your bra 😂💪

💬 Who else is gardening in this heat?! What are YOU cutting back right now?

🪴🐸 TOAD-ALLY AWESOME GARDEN HELPERS! 🐸🪴
Think toads are just warty little blobs? Think again! These garden legends are the unsung heroes of your flower beds—and here’s why you want loads of toads hopping about 👇👇

✨ WHY TOADS ROCK YOUR GARDEN WORLD:
🐛🍴 Free Pest Control: They scoff slugs, snails, ants, caterpillars & mozzies like they’re at an all-you-can-eat buffet!
🛏️ Night Shift Legends: While you're in bed, they’re doing your dirty work—hunting pests under the moonlight 🌙
♻️ No Poisons Needed: Who needs pesticides when you’ve got a hungry toad on patrol?
💧 Moisture Masters: They love damp hidey-holes—keep a shady log pile and they’ll check in like it's the Hilton
🌍 Biodiversity Boosters: More toads = healthier ecosystem. Fact.

😎 FUN TOAD FACTS
🎤 They don’t croak like frogs. It’s more of a deep, dramatic hum—like Barry White in a puddle
👶 Baby toads = “toadlets” 🐸 (so. damn. cute.)
🎯 A toad's tongue is STICKIER than a toddler's fingers after a jam sandwich

🚨 TOAD TIP: Got a pond? Keep a sloped edge so they can climb in and out—no one wants a toad lifeguard emergency 🛟

💬 TELL ME👇
Do YOU have toads in your garden?
🧡 Love 'em?
😱 Scared of 'em?
🤣 Given one a name? (Come on, someone’s got a “Sir Croaks-a-lot” out there…)

🌰🌳 Hazelnuts in the UK – Who Gets There First?! 🐿️😋

Hazelnut season is here… and guess what? You’re not the only one eyeing up those tasty little nuts! 😅 Let’s talk all things hazel – the tree, the nuts, the wood, and the cheeky wildlife who beat us to the snack drawer every time! 🐾💨

🐿️ Who Gets There First?

Squirrels, mice, jays & dormice ALL love hazelnuts! 🐭🕊️

You’ll often find empty shells scattered around before you’ve had a chance to blink 🤷‍♀️

Basically, if you want some, you’ve got to be quicker than a squirrel on a sugar rush 🏃‍♀️💨

🌍 Where Did Hazelnuts Come From?

They’re native to the UK – we’ve had them here since the Stone Age!

Early Brits snacked on them way before crisps and Hobnobs were a thing 😂

Hazel trees are found all over the UK – in woodlands, hedgerows & wild gardens

🌰 What Are Hazelnuts Used For?

Eaten raw, roasted, ground into flour, or blitzed into delicious Nutella-like spreads 🤤

Used in baking, chocolate, cereals, and fancy coffee shop lattes ☕🍫

Packed with healthy fats & vitamin E – proper little power nuts 💪

🌿 What’s Hazel Wood Good For?

Used in wattle fencing, hurdle making, and traditional coppicing

Great for garden structures, bean poles & crafty creations 🪵🎨

Super bendy and strong – nature’s original multitasker!

---

💡 FUN FACT: Hazel trees are part of ancient British folklore – they were believed to be magical and full of wisdom… probably because they knew how to keep squirrels fed all year round 😂✨

👇 Have you ever foraged for hazelnuts? Or do the squirrels always beat you to it? Let me know below!

🌸💜 SALVIAS... The Sassy Queens of the Border! 💜🌸

If you haven’t discovered the magic of salvias yet… babe, WHERE have you been?! 🤯 These absolute show-offs are bursting with colour, buzzing with bees 🐝 and they’re tougher than they look 💪 (bit like me tbh 😏).

✨ Did you know... there are over 900 species of salvias?! YES, NINE HUNDRED! From dainty little garden fillers to giant statuesque stunners — there’s a salvia for every mood, every space, and every colour scheme 😍🌈

Here’s WHY you need these beauties in your borders 👇👇👇

💥 BANG for your BLOOM
They flower for AGES — like, from spring till frost ❄️🔥
(while other plants have a diva strop and give up by July 🙄)

🐝 Bee-magnets
Want your garden buzzing with life? Salvias = insect rave 🐝🦋🎶

🌿 Low maintenance legends
Hardy, drought-tolerant, and don’t mind poor soil... a dream, really.

🪄 They work EVERYWHERE

🌞 Sunny borders

🪴 Containers & pots

🌸 Cottage gardens

🔥 Hot dry beds

🌼 Mixed with grasses & wildflowers

Even in modern minimalist gardens for that splash of flair 💅

🎨 So many colours it’s basically paint chart chaos
From electric blue 💙 to deep wine 🍷, bright red 🔴 to pastel pink 💕 — you can coordinate or go full riot 😎

⚠️Warning: once you plant one… you’ll end up with ten. 😂

🌸✨ WHO SAID DEAD THINGS ARE USELESS?! ✨🌸

Swipe the secateurs, not the drama! 🫣
Yes babes, this gorgeous ball of spiky fabulousness used to be an Allium 😍 – and no, I haven’t lost the plot (yet), I’ve just spray-painted it copper 💁🏼‍♀️ because these flower heads are FAR too fabulous to rot away in a border!

👉🏼 Did you know Allium heads have an afterlife?
Here’s what you can do once they've done their blooming biz: 🎨 Spray paint them (hello copper dreams!)
🏡 Use them in dried flower arrangements
🌿 Pop them in wreaths for a rustic edge
🪴 Add them to pots and displays for year-round structure
🎁 Even decorate pressies with them like a gardening goddess!

We grow Alliums not just for their big ol’ wow factor (hello pollinators 🐝💜), but because: ✅ They’re low maintenance
✅ Come back every year (like your fave Netflix series)
✅ They create instant garden drama without the tantrums

✨ TOP TIP: Harvest the heads once they’ve dried naturally, or you’ll end up with a glittery compost heap... don’t say I didn’t warn ya! 😅

Tag a mate who thinks gardening is just for grannies 🌸
Save this post for your next spray paint moment 💅
And tell me below 👇🏼 – would you leave them in the border or go full-on crafty queen? 👑🎨

🥲 Sweet Peas… and even sweeter patience?!
Well, would you look at me – growing sweet peas like an actual calm, patient adult. 🤯🌸
Yes, me... patiently growing something that doesn’t shout at me or fire up like a petrol strimmer.

I made a frame from scratch (by "scratch" I mean pure vibes and garden wire). It's not perfect – a bit wobbly, just like me – but somehow it's holding up these absolute stunners. 💁🏼‍♀️✨

They're blooming their little hearts out – smelling like summer, looking like cottagecore Pinterest threw up in my garden, and demanding to be harvested every bloody day. Yes, DAILY. Because apparently that’s how you keep them flowering. And now they’ve become high-maintenance divas. 🌸🙄

Honestly though, I’m a tiny bit obsessed. These sweet peas are my new favourite drama queens. 👑

💬 Who else has grown sweet peas and ended up in a toxic relationship with them because they’re SO beautiful but SO demanding? 😂
👇 Drop your sweet pea growing tips, fails or pics – I want to see what you lot have managed!

🦅 Not your average day on the job...
Because of course, I find a buzzard in the middle of the road! 😩🛣️
She looked winded, maybe stunned, but no broken legs, no puncture wounds, wings were fine, alert eyes, and could open and close her beak.

So I did what any decent human would—I scooped her up gently, kept her calm, and got her straight to the vets. 🩺💔

Only to find out the next day… they put her to sleep.
No explanation.
No call.
No proper reason.

I was FUMING.
Buzzards are a protected species 🛑
If you're not equipped to care for wildlife, at least tell us where to take them. I would’ve driven her to a sanctuary or even looked after her myself if needed.

I tried to do the right thing—but now I’m thinking twice.

💬 Have you ever rescued wildlife and had something similar happen? I'd love to hear your stories below so I don’t feel so alone with this frustration.
