These photos made me laugh. Anyone else got homes where under the stairs gets filled will junk…..
….. well if you take the stairs away it’s heritage remains!
We still filled this area with all the ‘important’ junk! 🫣

Back in November a lovely lady (I previously worked with during my time ) called me to help with her home refresh.

We spoke about purchasing v updating.

The pieces she bought from Neptune are only a few years old, the foundations are high quality so it was more cost-effective and sustainable to upholster and paint.

The process was fun, and the team upholstered her furniture to a high, and beautiful standard.

I love advising and supporting others on their home journeys.
I know from experience that it’s hard to step back and make decisions when it’s your own!

3 renovation mistakes you’ll regret later.
Learn from mine……!

1. Some jobs are ok to attempt yourself (in my case anything destructive!)

But when it comes to rebuilding always seek advice or skills from experience tradesmen. Doing the job well, and doing it once will save money in the long run.

2. Lose the ‘it will be ok’ attitude if in your heart you know it’s not right.

There have been some jobs that will ‘do’ so we can move onto the next but if a measurement isn’t right, the windows aren’t straight or the quality is wrong you will see it EVERY DAY, and it will drive you nuts!
If the jobs worth doing. Do it properly!

3. Consider each others opinions

A family build needs to be tight for the family so get everyone working in it, involved… to save on arguments!

Plan.

It’s not too early to imagine your space complete. If set myself a little target
…. and that is to invest in the big stuff like our ‘forever’ kitchen.

But when not comes to accessories and furniture is a treasure.

Creating a Moodboard early on can help you stay focussed and save money.

This was Cranmore Home in April 2024 before we took on the mammoth task of stripping it back.
Everyone that walks in says ‘you’ve got a lot to do!’

Yep!

And it still looks like a building site but we are making progress (despite how it looks).

In 18 months we’ve done so much - it helps to be reminded!

A whole year since 7 years with the gorgeous team came to an end with a return to full time with.

A risk which thankfully worked out and has supported our very own ‘Home Design project!’

Colours that are rooted to the natural world, subtle and don’t demand attention are predicted to enter our homes in 2026 according to designers.

As someone who follows her heart and her instinct this is music to my ears…
colours such as muddy green, creamy white and elevated blacks are shades I feel comfortable with - natural tones have always caught my eye.
It’s great to see I’ve fallen in line with ‘trends’ if only for a year! 🤍
