Our awards trophy has arrived!

Since sharing news of being named ‘Best Garden Centre Retailer of Gifts UK’, we’ve been overwhelmed by the number of kind messages we’ve had - including many lovely comments online and visitors to our shops from customers who have gone out of their way to congratulate our team.

Something very exciting has arrived at our garden centre.

We’ve just taken delivery of brand new ‘Sir David Beckham Rose’. A delicate, free-flowering white variety that was recently unveiled at Chelsea Flower Show for the .

We are thrilled to offer a limited number of these beautiful roses, which are in flower now and will repeat bloom. Available to buy at our garden centre while stocks last.

Last week we were lucky enough to visit Chelsea Flower Show! Here are a few highlights.

There was so much inspiration to take back with us. We particularly liked seeing the use of different grasses for layering, with multi-stems to add a central feature.

Patios, balconies and courtyard gardens can really shine when layered with furniture, pots & beautiful planting.

Alongside our lovely new selection of all-weather furniture and handmade pots, are some of our favourite container plants - including lavender, agapanthus and, for a real wow factor, olive trees.

All that’s left is a glass of something chilled and you’re ready to enjoy summer 😎

As seen at Chelsea 💚

For us, planting is always at the heart of any garden - it’s the element that brings texture, movement, colour and life to a space.

This year’s Chelsea Flower Show is no exception, with some standout plants that have already captured our attention…

1 – Hostas. We adore the delicious purple variety crowned Plant of the Year 2026, although in our book, any shade will do. No garden is complete without them.

2 – Acers. A forever favourite at Okells and always popular at Chelsea. We especially love the contrasting foliage in the Tokonoma Show Garden – Sanumaya no Niwa.

3 – Hydrangeas. Two ruby varieties have taken both second & third place in the Plant of the Year list and for good reason. We also love all the white and green varieties on show.

4 – Roses. As a proud David Austin stockist it’s wonderful to see these special roses feature so prominently. The RHS and The King’s Foundation Curious Garden features gorgeous white and pink roses. Other favourites of ours include ‘Emma Bridgewater’ and ‘Charles Darwin’ (both pictured). These and plenty more are available from our garden centre.

A moment for our wisteria 💜

This has been growing happily along our greenhouse stanchions for years, but we’ve lots of varieties and colours available to buy now.

From young plants to mature specimens, we stock traditional climbers, wisteria arches, trellis and umbrella-trained - each one offering something special and unique.
