Despite the unsettled start to the month, April is definitely the time to be in the garden. It is the beginning of the growing season, and during this month, there are lots of jobs that need doing.

Some April jobs:

1. Sow hardy annuals in pots. In mild areas, these can be sown directly outside.
2. Plant out young plants of hardy annuals that were sown in February/March
3. Apply general fertiliser to borders and beds.
4. Hoe borders to keep weeds at bay.
5. Put out pot bound plants
6. Rake out dead grass from lawns

Despite the unsettled start to the month, April is definitely the time to be in the garden. It is the beginning of the growing season, and during this month, there are lots of jobs that need doing.
