I have always had candle workshops in the forefront of my mind for Memory Lane but ive never had the space to do this and whilst I did have an opportunity a short while back to take on the most amazing barn conversion which would have been perfect, I could not justify £1000 a month minimum at this stage in the business. Like all businesses, there are high times and also low periods and I really didn't want to put that much pressure on myself at this stage.

So..... The next best thing was to look into converting our garage into my dream candle studio that I could run workshops from. Whilst it is by no means cheap to convert it is of course just a one off cost (which I am still scraping together lol).

I am going to document the full conversion so follow along to see the transformation.

A little throwback today to my very first candle workshop…

There’s something really special about seeing people create their own candles, blending fragrances, chatting, laughing and slowing down for a couple of hours away from the noise of everyday life.

That workshop confirmed that I’d absolutely love to make workshops a regular part of Memory Lane Candle® a little later this year and there is something very exciting in the pipeline to enable this ☺️

Cosy evenings, nostalgic scents, good conversation and creating something meaningful with your own hands just feels very Memory Lane.

I already have so many ideas brewing for what these could become and I genuinely can’t wait to bring them back properly.

Before becoming a professional candle maker, many of you probably don’t know I used to be a wedding stylist.

For years, I helped create beautiful spaces and special moments for people on one of the biggest days of their lives. I absolutely loved being part of those memories.

But over time, I became completely fascinated by how powerful scent is… and how one smell can transport you somewhere instantly.

Back to a coffee shop you loved.
A childhood kitchen.
A cosy little bookshop.
Someone you miss.

And that’s really where Memory Lane started.
