🌿 Did you know we're a little different from your average garden centre? 🌿

While you're here shopping for plants, gifts and refreshments, you can also stroll through our beautiful gardens — completely FREE of charge!

Yep, you read that correctly... we don't charge an entry fee to walk around and enjoy our gardens. Whether you're looking for ideas for your own garden or simply fancy a peaceful wander, our gardens are open for everyone to explore.

Over the last two years, we've also invested in upgrading our pathways, making it even easier and more enjoyable to explore them.

As a proudly independent, family-run business in the heart of Shropshire, we've been growing quality plants for gardens for years — and our own gardens are here to inspire yours.

If you're new to Oakgate and aren't quite sure where the gardens are, just ask a member of the team and we'll happily point you in the right direction.🌳

We love welcoming your four-legged friends to Oakgate but with temperatures set to soar this bank holiday weekend, we'd kindly encourage customers to consider leaving their dogs safely at home where possible.

Although our shop is air conditioned, much of the Garden Centre is outdoors or under polythene and glass, where temperatures become much higher than outside very quickly.

Your dog's comfort and wellbeing come first during this warmer weather. Thank you for helping us keep our furry visitors safe and happy 🐶☀️

We’re an independent, family-run garden centre looking for a knowledgeable Plant Area Assistant to join our friendly team!
📅 Working Days: 3/4 weekdays + every other weekend
✨ Your role:
• Care for and maintain a wide range of plants
• Assisting customers with expert advice
• Keep our plant area stocked and looking its best
• Support with deliveries & seasonal displays
🌼 What you’ll need:
✔ Previous horticulture or plant retail experience (essential)
✔ Strong plant knowledge
✔ A passion for customer service
✔ A hands-on, can-do attitude
