🔨 Full Rear Flat Roof Rebuild & Structural Upgrade 🏠

This project involved the complete removal of an existing rear flat roof and a full rebuild, raised by 200mm to achieve a continuous internal ceiling height and improve overall spatial flow within the property.

As part of the new roof structure, we incorporated a 50mm continuous airflow zone, specifically designed to support effective between-joist insulation and long-term moisture control.

The structure was also pre-designed and framed to accommodate a new skylight, allowing for a seamless future install once supplied.

To complete the system, we installed new fascias and all associated leadwork, ensuring a durable, fully weatherproof finish across all critical junctions.

🔨 EPDM Roof Remedial Works & Completion 🏠

An incomplete EPDM roof installation (carried out by others) had led to ongoing issues, resulting in damage to both the fascia and external render on this single-storey extension.

Blackrock were brought in to complete and correct the system, ensuring it performs as intended moving forward.

We installed new fascia boards alongside EPDM drip trims and water check detailing, tying the roofing system together properly and preventing further water tracking or future deterioration.

🔧 Rear Roof Repair Completed 🏠

A significant defect to the rear roof was identified, including a large hole along with multiple broken and slipped slates, leaving the property vulnerable to water ingress.

Our team carried out a full targeted repair, replacing all damaged and missing slates to restore the roof covering and ensure a consistent, weather-tight finish.

We also installed new lead flashings to the chimneys and party walls, along with re-pointing where required, to reinforce key junctions and eliminate potential weak points.

🚪 Damp Issue Fixed & Entrance Restored 🧱

Years of pavement overlays had gradually raised external levels, leading to persistent damp issues around the front door of this property.

Blackrock attended to fully resolve the problem by carefully removing the existing door and carrying out structural adjustments to reinstate proper levels and protection against moisture ingress.

We installed an additional course of reclaimed bricks to match the original character of the property, ensuring a seamless aesthetic blend with the existing façade. A new cill was fitted to improve water shedding and long-term durability.

The door was then cut and re-sized to suit the new opening, and a new weatherboard was installed to further protect against the elements.

A practical fix that not only resolves the damp issue but also respects the look and feel of the property. 🏠✨

🌧️ Roof Leak Investigation & Repair Complete 🔨

A combination of perished roofing felt and damaged Velux flashing had led to significant water ingress, putting the roof structure at risk of further damage.

To resolve the issue, we carefully stripped back three courses of tiles, removed the failed felt, and installed new roofing felt to seamlessly match the existing roof. We also fitted new 25mm x 50mm treated battens to ensure a solid and long-lasting foundation.

To address the defective Velux flashing, we installed additional lead flashings, creating a robust weatherproof seal and eliminating the source of the leaks.

Another roof restored to full protection and ready to withstand the elements for years to come. ✅🏠

🚨 Major Shed Roof Rescue 🚨

This shed had been suffering from a long-term roof leak, causing extensive water damage. By the time we arrived, the wall plates had completely rotted away, and the central joist was beginning to fail.

Due to the joist running continuously into the neighbouring shed, a full replacement wasn’t possible. Instead, we strengthened the structure by installing new timber joists either side of the existing one and securely bolting them together to create a solid reinforcement.

We then replaced all rotten wall plates, installed new OSB roofing boards, and completely rebuilt the roof structure. To finish the job, we fitted a high-performance IKO underlay and a torch-on felt roofing system, providing a durable, weatherproof finish built to last.

From severe rot and structural concerns to a strong, watertight roof ready for years of service. 💪🏠
