Following a substantial investment in 2025 into Layher Event Scaffolding Systems, we’ve now completed our latest Milos + Layher integration test build, with our existing Milos MR2K stage now sitting on a Layher Event Deck 2.07 scaffolding base featuring fully integrated ballast solutions.

The updated specification now includes 4.14 × 4.14 metre tech sheds on both sides with stair access, and we’ll soon be adding options for a rear ramp and a mid-level loading dock to allow easy truck access on and off stage.

This marks a huge step forward in our outdoor staging productions, offering faster builds, stronger structures under load, and systems ready for large-scale festival, touring, and corporate productions.

JOB VACANCIES!

Due to further expansion and with 2024 Festival season shaping up to be our busiest season yet, Norfolk based Event production Company Light Design Ltd are looking to fill a number of part time and full time staff positions for a 6 month contract this summer from April to September 2024. There is the possibility this may lead to full time position(s) subject to ability and aptitude. So, if you have skills covering the following please get in touch:

We are looking for Festival Crew to assist with Stage Building and setting up event production equipment, training can be given if required

Due to the nature of our work it will be necessary to work away at various sites in the UK
The roles require long hours and technical crew will be required to work weekends
Hard working, reliable staff with common sense required as well as ability to lift equipment
Ability to drive forklift useful
All applicants should be able to drive due to our remote location and must have a full clean uk driving licence. Experience of driving vans (Iveco Daily) also an added bonus

Salary – To be discussed according to roles and ability payable weekly though PAYE

Light Design Ltd have been hard at work this last month preparing and programming several shows for Jimmy Dean and Silver Screen Symphony at the NEC Birmingham for a one of a kind show featuring classic movies with music performed by symphonic ibiza orchestra, the shows Kevin and Perry, Ghostbusters and Matilda have been timecoded with lighting and video programmed and operated by the Light Design Team the first screening took place with Kevin and Perry Go Large Monday 6th May with further Screenings listed below with ticket links

Following on from our major investment in Layher staging Light Design Ltd are also delighted to announce further investment in lighting with another 12 x Clay P**y Sharpy Plus added to our existing stock bringing us up to 30 of these impressive hybrid super spot beam effects fixture now in stock, these new fixtures will allow us to facilitate many of the large scale shows we have booked in this summer where large numbers of fixtures are required on single stages, we can’t wait to see them out in action on our biggest stage, and we have one very special show planned over August bank holiday that we are currently in the design stages of exciting times, and summer 2024 is looking set to be a busy one.

Lightdesignltd are please to announce the first of many new purchases ready for this years festival season, with a substantial investment in layher allround and EV207 event deck, this new purchase is now fully integrated with our Milos 10m x 8m MR1T roof with a very specific specialists Custom Calculation making this the first 10m arc roof to have both a layher subbase and allow video hangs on both rear truss and also both Pa wings with a cantilever for Pa when fully loaded with video, the main roof has also newly improved updated ratings for higher payload, this now makes the baby stage in our fleet a highly flexible and cost effective solution for many events looking for a stage delivering stunning looks but with no compromise on performance, the first outing for this stage is a month long booking of 14 festivals and shows at the outdoor space at NEC in Birmingham, special thanks goes out to the team at areafourindustries and layher UK who went above and beyond to ensure our stage was integrated and deadlines were met with essential parts and upgrades to meet this shows deadline , also massive thanks to our client James Dean events for booking us for this fantastic run of dates as this newly set up festival event space in the midlands

Another day at the office

This week see the Light Design Ltd team head into london to supply a stage for our friends at for their client
This site was a very challenging and rewarding site to work on being on concrete and located in the heart of London’s financial district, the site was tight and required a bespoke solution to deliver our Milo’s MR1T 10m x 8m stage for the site, our Milo’s MT1 ballast trays and a IBC solution were deployed into action for this project along with a dog leg disabled ramp for one of the artist performing needing perfect 1:12 ratio ramped stage access for a wheel chair.
The final results were most definitely worth the effort and we were delighted to be involved in the project to help deliver this main stage for Festival 14 this weekend, thanks for having us and we hope you have a great show
