Scotts Project Trust

Scotts Project Trust Sessions in everything from drama and cookery to gardening, art and IT, enable our people to explore their interests and develop their talents.

Our Mission is to deliver an excellent service in a friendly, nurturing environment where people with a learning disability can choose how they are supported, and develop their skills to realise their aspirations. Our mission is: 'To provide a supportive and nurturing environment for adults with a learning disability that enables each of them to realise their potential for fulfilled and happy liv

es.'

We run three separate but interlinked services, each run to exemplary standard:

St Peter's Row: our residential care home is commended by the Care Quality Commission for 'inclusive, integrated care', St Peter's Row provides a homely base from which the 15 residents can enjoy busy and fulfilling lives. Day Services: welcoming over 85 adults with a learning disability every week, we offer an impressively broad range of sessions run by skilled staff who support service users to develop essential life-skills. Supported living: some people with a learning disability choose to live more independently. Nine residents currently live in our two supported living houses, The Oaks and The Willows, with support tailored to their needs.

✨Every Gift Matters

One of the biggest misconceptions about leaving a gift in a Will is that it has to be a large amount.

In reality, many people choose to leave a small percentage of their estate, a fixed sum, or even a specific item. Whatever the size, every gift can help create opportunities, experiences and specialist support for adults with learning disabilities at Scotts.

This Remember A Charity Week, we're simply encouraging people to be aware of the option.

🌟 What kind of legacy would you like to leave?

A gift in your Will is about more than money. It's about the values, people and causes that have mattered to you throughout your life.

Many supporters tell us they want future generations of people with learning disabilities to have the same opportunities, friendships and experiences that Scotts provides today. A gift in a Will can help make that possible.

This Remember A Charity Week, we're celebrating everyone who chooses to leave a positive impact on the world around them.

What a fantastic day at the Tonbridge Lions Dragon Boat Race yesterday! 🐉🚣‍♂️

Scotts Splash Squad brought energy and plenty of competitive spirit to the water and gave every single heat everything they had.

While our best efforts weren't quite enough to secure a spot in the grand final, the lack of a trophy certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits.

The highlight of the day was off the water—connecting with old friends, making new ones, and spending quality time with our residents and their families.

Huge thanks to our amazing corporate partners Clarke Williams Ltd for paddling alongside us, to the Tonbridge Lions Club for hosting such a brilliant community event, and to everyone who came down to cheer us on from the riverbank!

Here are a few moments from a wonderful day on the River Medway. 👇

Splashing into the week with memories from yesterday's Tonbridge Lions Dragon Boat Race! 🐉🚣‍♂️

Glorious sunshine, incredible effort, and a brilliant team-up with our partners

We missed out on the grand final, but having our residents, families, and community cheering on the riverbank made it an absolute win! ☀️👏

Scotts visit to Mayor’s parlour ends in unanimous vote!

Visitors from Scotts Project Trust seized the chance to debate an issue close to their hearts on a recent trip to see the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling.
A group went along to tour the Mayor’s parlour. The visit included chatting with Mayor Cllr Kim Tanner, viewing the gallery of former mayors, sitting at the conference table and banging the gavel at the Mayoral desk!
The group then went on to have a Chamber debate on the agenda item: “Is there a need for a footpath from North Tonbridge to Scotts to allow people to walk there as buses are infrequent?”
Cllr Tanner said: “This was a lively debate with both positive and negative aspects covered, however after a long discussion with great fun using the desk microphones there was a unanimous vote in favour.
“I have promised to raise this at council for consideration.”
The day began with the Mayor explaining her role as a councillor, Cabinet Member and then as Mayor of Tonbridge & Malling.
She said: “It was amazing to field so many questions that were asked of me, and to see the interest from all of those who were there.
“I hope everyone enjoyed our time together as much as me, and I hope we can do it again before my term as mayor comes to an end.”
Cllr Tanner chose Scotts as one of her charities for the year when she started her term as Mayor.
The students sent the Mayor a thank you letter expressing their enjoyment: “We are grateful for the tour and hospitality you gave us, as well as looking at war photos and past mayor’s wall photos, and sitting in the Mayor’s chair for photos.
“Thank you for the nice morning and for seeing the chamber – it was very professional when we spoke one by one with the microphone.”

💜 It's Remember A Charity Week

Many people choose to support causes they care about during their lifetime. This week is about raising awareness that it's also possible to support a charity through a gift in your Will.

Since 1990, Scotts Project Trust has been helping adults with learning disabilities live fulfilling, meaningful lives. Gifts left in Wills help charities like Scotts plan for the future and continue providing opportunities, support and friendship for years to come.

Leaving a gift in your Will is a personal choice, but we hope you'll take a moment to learn more about the difference this kind of support can make.
