Back to a favourite - Another transformation from one of our previous projects…

Set at the end of a tidal creek, Creek’s End has been thoughtfully transformed to strengthen the connection between the house, garden and spectacular landscape beyond.

A new fully glazed green oak barn room opens the home towards the creek, valley and newly landscaped garden, while extensive external works introduced terraces, retaining walls, planting and a swimming pool.

The result is a home that feels naturally connected to its surroundings, with a palette of stone, timber and glass creating a contemporary yet timeless character.

A previous project and the transformation the extension brought, Artist's Residence

A simple extension transformed this Arts & Crafts home, carefully continuing the original architecture while creating a dramatic new vaulted oak-framed living space.

From the outside, the slate roof and rendered walls sit quietly beneath the original eaves, making the addition feel as though it has always been there. Inside, a vaulted oak frame, woodburner, timber floors and rooflights create a warm, light-filled space.

Sharps Field | History & Legacy

One of our most distinctive rural projects, Sharps Field is a contemporary Somerset farmhouse that combines traditional craft with forward-thinking design.

Completed in the early 2000s, the 600m²+ project brings together a replacement farmhouse, converted barn, carport and link, swimming pool and spa building. With exposed timber framing, expansive glazing, vaulted living spaces and uninterrupted views across the surrounding countryside, the home has a strong connection to its landscape.

Sustainability was also central to the design, incorporating solar PV, thermal solar heating, a wind turbine, biofuel heating, underfloor heating and whole-house MVHR with comfort cooling – an impressive example of integrated rural eco-design ahead of its time.

Another New Case Study - Skyfold House

Set within a gently sloping landscape with sweeping countryside and distant sea views, this single-storey three-bedroom home is designed to sit quietly within its surroundings while making the most of its exceptional outlook.

The low-lying form follows the natural contours of the site, combining larch cladding, a zinc roof and a warm Douglas fir structural frame. A full-width west-facing veranda extends the living spaces outdoors, while solar PV, battery storage and an air-source heat pump contribute to the home’s low-carbon performance.

A contemporary, landscape-led home designed around views, comfort and connection to place.
