A Scots pine fire surround in the workshop a few weeks ago for modification. 60mm reduction in width and around 130mm taken off the mantle top. All the original mouldings reinstated. Turned out nice.

Some pictures of the now completed Portsoy house. 6 windows repaired, 8 new windows identical in profile to the originals and 3 new traditional lining doors with frames as per the architect/client design. Massive thanks as usual to Dave Firth joinery for fitting the doors (I did lend a hand as well 😁)
The property is just behind the Shore Inn made famous in Peaky Blinders, Series 6 episode 1, Have a look and you'll also see the elliptical arch double doors I made for the "whisky warehouse"👌

Still waiting for a shoulder repair! But, in the meantime I've taken on this beauty in the heart of Portsoy along with Dave Firth Joinery (who's doing all the heavy lifting 🤣) Some sash and case repairs, some new windows into previously built up openings, replacement doors and frames AND this little 4 pane original that was discovered behind the lath and plaster. The client wanted it left in as near original condition as possible so happy to oblige. More pictures to follow as the job progresses.

A recently completed double door replacement. Manufactured to the clients design in Accoya and fitted with Frank Allart satin brass hardware. Insulated, raised and fielded panels along with a bespoke bolection beed.

A recently completed renovation of eight sash and case windows in a listed building, two of which were curved. Now fully draught stripped, double glazed with heritage low e units and new antique brass hardware to original style. Should be good for another couple of hundred years!!

Finally got round to completing this media unit in our kitchen, only about 3 years since I started it! The base is mahogany, carcase done with birch ply and maple doors with speaker grill fabric. Just as well the client wasn't in a rush 😆

Back to school with these windows! Not only because I had to think how to make them, but also because they're for the old school near Fyvie that my ancestors would have attended. Made to replicate the style of the 1930s iron windows. Thanks again to Dave Firth Joinery although this time his role was limited to lifting them into my van for delivery. 😄
