These delicate paintings were very important to our client and needed the utmost care when framing. We carefully floated them on off-white conservation board and then framed them using a bespoke version of our gently rounded High Hurstwood profile, which were stained in teak to match the rich browns of the paintings. Waxed ash corner details add lovely contrast and fillets along the inside of the frames give the paintings an extra layer of depth. 🖼️✨

A look back at some May highlights from the workshop:

• The making of a combed imitation brass mirror - the frame for this one is a little thinner than our usual combed frames and we absolutely love the result.

• A peek behind the curtain at the reality of trying to photograph mirrors... It’s not all blue skies and foliage! 😅

• We love working on hospitality projects and were very happy to send this large order of gold metal leaf corners with scallop mirrors made to one of London’s most iconic hotels.

• Our Painted Bamboo Mirrors went on sale and we’ve now been making them in just about every colour of the rainbow (including gold!) 🌈

• We completed a large order of framed art that included a number of brass and bronze metal frames - we love the way these catch the light!

• Framed a beautiful embroidered piece by for ’s gorgeous room at this year’s and we can’t wait to go up and see it in-situ soon!

• Made one of our biggest Chequered Mirrors yet! This one was painted with exposed walnut to make our Chequered design and everyone agrees that it’s a real looker.

Cabinets hide a myriad of secrets and, over the years, the bespoke cabinet doors we’ve made have hidden away everything from toothbrushes to personal safes and televisions. But no matter what’s hidden behind, it’s paramount that the doors themselves are as beautiful as they are functional, and this pair is really something special. ✨

Delicate beading runs around the outside of these chamfered frames, which are finished in antique silver over black, and light antique mirror glass completes the picture, providing a perfectly speckled reflection. The inside of the doors are painted a silky chocolate brown, ensuring they look great whether they’re open or closed.

This sleek bronze metal tray frame beautifully echoes the tones of the wet tarmac and shingle roof in this painting. Though they’re not right for every piece of art, a metal frame can add wonderful heft and a glint of luxury, and we love how even this thin 5mm bronze frame adds a great deal of dimension and materiality this quotidian scene. 🤎
