After alot of thought and going back and forth I have come to the decision to stop doing the gardening and get a full time all year round job. As much as I've loved being my own boss and doing gardening work/grass cutting for all my lovely customers I need something more stable. All the problems I've had with the van this year, a new addition and Catrina's need to reduce her work hours with her fibromyalgia getting worse I need a more secure income to reduce the pressure on her as her full time wage was our fall back on wage.
I want to say a big thank you to all my customers who have supported me the last couple of years, your support and patience has meant alot to me and my family but its time for a new adventure.

I can not believe I am writing this for a third time this year but the van has broken down on me again but this time I have no idea what's wrong with it so away to Doms at DC coach works it goes.
I am honestly gutted, alot of sweat blood and tears, all my own, went into getting the van back on the road and she has been running perfect since. I know with the weather I am running behind and there is alot of you needing your grass cut and I can only apologise to everyone of my customers. I am hoping whatever is wrong with it is a fairly simple fix and I will be back up and running soon.

After testing how she went today I think I'm safe to say "touch wood" that is the van back on the road! I've been to a few gardens today and back out tomorrow to do more and continuing all week while the weather is good to get everyone's grass cut! A big thank you to Chris Maclean the father in law for researching and the tips and moral support! And a big thank you to you mu customers for standing by me and waiting until I got my van back on the road.

Bad news, the part that I was waiting to come and I was fitting the other day broke, why do companies use such cheap quality metal these days! I tried to mend it but the oil pressure is too much for the mend. Unfortunately this means I need to wait till Monday for a new part.
I'm going to take the car tomorrow and chuck a strimmer in the back and come to my customers who's gardens is just strimming. If any other of my customers who are needing their grass cut badly and want just a strim to tie them over until I can get the van going please message the business page, myself or Catrina Angela MacLean-McDonald and let us know. Once again apologies to everyone and thank you for all your patience, I appreciate you all more than I can put into words. This has been such a massive headache. The joys of being a relatively new self employed business.

After myself and the father in law did some research we are hopeful its not the head gasket but the oil housing cooler. Had hoped I had got all the parts I needed on Thursday but after having a proper look/started yesterday saw I needed another part.
Al parts I need should be hear by midweek. Hoping I can get the van fixed by the weekend so I can get back out to get all my customers sorted. Now if we can please all hope for dry weather once the van is fixed that would be much appreciated!

My worse fears has come true with the van breaking down earlier in this month. Suspect head gasket. Unfortunately I am now out of action for the forseeable until I get this fixed. So sorry to all my customers. One very gutted team McDonald

Hi everyone. That is me back from holiday. I've spent most of today working on my van trying to get her up and running. Hopefully have her going by tomorrow (trying to stay positive here!) and then I will be out running at full steam again.
A few people have been in touch and Catrina has taken note of who has asked when I will be around and yous will be first done when I'm up and running. If any of my customers are needing there grass cut asap please get in touch and we will try and priorities who is most at need. Thank you to everyone for being so patient. The joys of being self employed and relying on a vechile as we all know how much they love to breakdown!

That's McDonald Garden Services on holiday, I'm away with the wife and kids to see my father over in Belfast. I am hopeful I will be back to work on the 15th of July but with my van still off the road I don't know how long it will take me to do the repair. A big thanks to Richard Ross for the loan of a van this week to try get everyone waiting for a while to get there grass cut.

Unfortunately my van has broken down so I am out of action until I get her fixed. Apologies to all my customers. I'm Hoping it will be an easy fix and I'll be back out soon
