It is with deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that Nick Price, founder of Nick’s Complete Plastering, has sadly passed away.

Nick was not only a skilled and dedicated plasterer, but a proud tradesman who took enormous pride in his work. He built his business on hard work, honesty, and a genuine commitment to delivering a high standard on every job, no matter the size.

Many of you will have welcomed Nick into your homes over the years. He was known for his reliability, his attention to detail, and his straightforward, friendly manner. Plastering wasn’t just his job — it was his craft, and he cared deeply about doing it properly.

Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while arrangements are made and the family takes time to process this devastating loss. Further updates will be shared in due course.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Nick and his business over the years.

Rest easy, Nick.

What is SBR and why do we use it?
SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) is a liquid latex admixture commonly added to mortars, renders, and screeds. It’s designed to improve performance and durability, giving much better results compared to standard mixes.
Here’s what it does:
Stronger bond – SBR acts as a bonding agent, helping new plaster, render, or screed adhere securely to existing surfaces.
Reduced cracking – It increases flexibility, making surfaces more resistant to cracking caused by shrinkage or movement.
Water resistance – Adding SBR improves resistance to water and damp, which is particularly useful in basements, external walls, and other moisture-prone areas.
Longer-lasting finish – It strengthens the overall mix, making the finished surface more durable and resilient to wear and tear.
In short, SBR is one of the “behind the scenes” products that makes a big difference to the quality and longevity of plastering and rendering work. It helps us deliver a stronger, cleaner, and longer-lasting finish for our customers.
Covering Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire and the surrounding area.

Job in Bishops Cleeve.

This ceiling needed a full refresh, so the first step was to overboard it using 6 x 3 plasterboard sheets. Once all boards were securely fixed, the entire ceiling was fully scrim taped to reinforce joints and reduce the risk of future cracking.

All preparation now complete and ready for plastering. Next stage is a full skim to leave a smooth, clean finish.

More updates to follow once plastering is finished.

Follow-up from our Evesham job – all works now completed.

The three ceilings have been fully overboarded to create a strong, level base, and all three walls have been professionally skimmed, leaving a smooth, clean finish ready for decorating.

Overboarding ensures long-term stability, especially where ceilings have movement or older surfaces, and the final skim brings everything together for a crisp, modern look throughout the space.

Another job finished to a high standard.
