βHeavy reduction carried out on a mature apple tree π³π
The presence of Trametes versicolor (Turkey Tail fungus) π¦π prompted a formal assessment of the treeβs overall condition. This identified included bark unions of major limbs, extensive decay and cavities within major branches and dieback within the crown.
As a result, a significant canopy reduction was undertaken to reduce end-weight on compromised limbs. This approach helps lower the risk of branch failure and gives the tree a better chance of retention long-term.
