Finally completed the job in Nortwood Hills where I have built cupboards in the hall. I have returned and constructed cupboards in the loft and decorated . The walls have some rather special paint. It is a mat paint that is fully washable and reflects light called Dulux Light and Space. It really brightens up a room. The only downside with it is it empties your bank account at the same time.

I have just completed this interesting job. The client moved to a house and the previous owners had an American style fridge.
They had an standard type fridge so it left an untidy gap in the units.

My brief was to fit a cabinet in the space and also a wall cabinet to cover a fuse box
The cupboards were no longer manufactured but we could get the doors and other parts but not in the same colour. We obtained a tall cabinet that the manufacturers made to our size but could not get the door for the unusual sized unit. We bought an oversized door and frame and altered them to make them fit.
The wall cabinet turned out to be smaller than the originals so I had to do a bit of tinkering with it to match it to the others.
The doors, side panels, cornices, plinths and pelmets where supplied unfinished as they no longer made them in the same colour so they had to be primed and have two coats of satin paint that we had colour matched.
A lot of work but I think you will agree a good job and the new cabinets could not be distinguished from the originals.

Some before and after pictures of the first stage of a fairly big job in Northwood Hills. The clients have had a loft conversion built but there are quite a few secondary works to be completed.
These are mainly carpentry jobs so they are just up my street.
I was able to obtain some doors that are the same as the rest of the doors in the house so they they are a perfect fit.
There is a cupboard half way up the stairs to store suitcases and I fitted a frame and some sliding MDF doors.
The untidy mess in a corner had a WC cistern and the electric consumer unit and lots of odds and ends so a corner cabinet with a cut down door and MDF shelf tidied this away.
A frame to the under stairs cupboards and a couple of doors.
Finaly some Oak bannisters and post caps and pine Edwardian spindals set the job off.

An interesting Job.
This porch had a 6x6 softwood post that had rotted in the ground.
I decided to replace it with an European green oak post and mount it on a brick plinth.
The post was lifted on to my Landrover's roof with a fork lift as it weighed about 100KG which was fine until I had to lift it off manualy. Cut to size it was still about 75KG so quite difficult to get in on my own. However with the help of an Acro and some rope and timber, with a bit of ingenuity I thought I could manage it,
I got her in place and secured it then built the brickwork up underneath.
Finally I lowered the prop to set the post and gave it a couple of coats of Sadolin Supadec. Job done and looking as good as new.
A very enjoyable job.

This was a very enjoyable job. Dismantled this table and took the top over to a freinds worktop in Leighton Buzzard and ruun it through his giant drum sander. Spent a couple of hours sanding it by hand then a light stain to enhance the colour and three coats of Danish oil. Result was stunning.

Just finished an interesting job, the client wanted something a little different with horizontal boards. Fence incorporates nearly 1000 stainless steel screws. The post holes took me 6 days to complete due to very difficult ground conditions but I got there in the end. Another happy customer.
