Frozen condensate alert!
As temperture drops again, and your boiler stops working suddenly, it could be due to frozen condensate!
In winter, when temperature drops boilers can often experience issues, mainly if the condensate pipe is located outside.
One common problem is frozen condensate, which can cause your boiler to shut down and display an error code such as F28, F29, E133 or E29, or EA, which often are related to the condensate pipe.
To diagnose the issue, you can follow a few steps.
Firstly, check the display screen on your boiler for any error codes related to the condensate pipe.
Listen out for any unusual sounds, such as gurgling or bubbling, which could indicate that the condensate pipe is frozen.
You can also check the boiler flame and pressure gauge for any signs of trouble.
If you notice frost or ice outside the condensate pipe, it's likely frozen.
If you suspect your condensate pipe is frozen, you can try thawing it out with warm water.
Once it's thawed, reset the boiler by turning it off and on.
In most cases, these simple steps will work, so go ahead and try.
However, if you have followed the above and still struggling, it's best to contact us at CDRoberts Boiler Expert for assistance. I can diagnose the issue, advise you on how to keep your boiler working efficiently and safely, and fix any error codes related to the condensate pipe.
Stay warm,
