Happy Easter everyone and a bonus – the sun is shining and we are open!!

Although it is too early to plant out your summer bedding plants and vegetables we still have plenty of choice in hardy perennials and shrubs to fill some gaps in your gardens. If you want to start planning your summer gardens and containers come down and see us for some inspiration and help.

Now is also the time to bring in your empty containers and hanging baskets for replanting

Propagation Course
One of the most enjoyable and satisfying jobs on the nursery is plant propagation. This is dependent on good results; therefore, the course will help maximise your propagator while saving money and enhancing satisfaction.
NOW is the time to be propagating!
It’s not rocket science, but simple things can make a big difference. There will be some hands-on experience as well as a look at how to be successful without specialist conditions. A lot of the advice and tips apply to general plant care.

Thursday 9th April. 9.30am (allow 3-4hours)
Tuesday 14th April. 9.30am (allow 3-4hours)
£50.00 per person, starter gift pack and 25% off propagation items in the shop.

2026 Season
Purely Plants will be opening on Saturday 14th March (tomorrow).

OPENING TIMES!
Don’t forget we are now closed on Mondays (Open Bank Holiday Mondays)
95% of plants are produced onsite, therefore increased production means we need to close for one day a week, to focus on all things production.

Mother’s Day
We have a wide range of plants from small pots to ready planted arrangements to choose from for those gardening Mums or we can do gift vouchers so they can choose their own later in the season

Our 2026 production is well underway, with our usual range of summer bedding, herbaceous perennials, expanded shrub range and vegetable plants for home growing. We will have our usual Hanging Basket Refill service (baskets must be EMPTY before returning them), as well as a wide range of pre-planted hanging baskets ready to buy.

LAST WEEKEND OF THE SEASON!
We will be closing for winter this Sunday 17th November. Last chance to get any winter colour … at a bargain price as our end of season sale is on! This includes winter bedding, basket plants, and the last few hanging baskets. There are also some bargains on perennial plants.
Plant confusion.
This autumn appears to have thrown some plants into a state of confusion, already developing buds for next spring. Check any susceptible plants which may need some additional protection against any severe cold weather.
Charity afternoon
As always from 1pm on Sunday ALL proceeds from Sale Items, go to one of our 3 charities, just pick the charity of your choice.
We look forward to seeing you, open usual hours 10am until 5pm.

We are now into our last 2 weeks of the season.
So, if you still have summer annuals in your borders and pots, they may be starting to look dreary following the frost and if you have gaps to fill, now is the time, as there are more frosts on the way.
Planting for Pollinators.
Winter bedding planted now will provide a real boost for pollinators in winter and early spring.

Hanging Basket Refills
This is the last week to bring in containers for a winter refill. Return your empty baskets now to be planted with a colourful winter display lasting through to spring.

Our last Course of the season
Overwintering Plants & Pots
Including instruction on overwintering perennials, annuals, and patio pot plants.
This will include demonstrations on pruning, protection and caring for plants during winter.
Sunday 9th November 9.30am. Half Day course £40.00. Spaces are limited.

End of season closing
We close for winter on Sunday 16th November. As always, on our last afternoon, all proceeds from sale items go to our three chosen charities. You can choose which gets your money.

We are now open, for the Autumn season and, thankfully it has brought us some much-needed rain!

There is a wide range of winter bedding plants, hanging baskets, Speed Planters for instant planting, perennials, as well as a selection of shrubs and climbers. Our bulbs, for that burst of spring colour, are now in alongside the house plant range.

Our Autumn Courses start soon
Titled ‘Propagation and Saving plants for next year’ and ‘Putting your garden to bed for winter’ to help plants survive what ever the coming winter brings.

Good morning everyone.
SALE NOW ON – come and grab a bargain!
Today is the last day of the Summer Season and we have lots of bargains in our sale to fill those gaps in your garden.
As usual on our last day of each Season all sale items sold on Sunday afternoon, proceeds go to charity. You choose from our three below, so come along a spend a some ££££s for a good cause!
We shall be busy over August preparing to reopen on Saturday 6th September with a fresh crop of plants to see you through the Autumn and into next Spring.

END OF SEASON SUMMER SALE
With still plenty of colour and choice, our end of season summer sale starts today. There is still time to plant. Plant your partner in the coffee shed and have a browse at the summer bedding. The intense burst of colour from annuals is great for our pollinators, which we are seeing on the nursery. There is the usual range of vegetable plants, herbaceous perennials and grasses, shrubs, climbing plants, shade loving plants as well as hanging baskets and patio containers. For a burst of scent, we have Nemesia Wisley Vanilla.
Wildlife Reminder
With the hot dry weather, we have place dishes of water around the nursery, and they are very popular with the wildlife. For hedgehogs they are best place in shade at the back of borders.

We are open 6 days a week, Tuesday to Sunday, 10am until 5pm. Our last day of the season will be Sunday 27th July, when we have our usual charity sale.

The recent sunshine has certainly done wonders for the garden and our latest crop of bedding plants, perennials and shrubs BUT the overnight frosts are a reminder of just how early it is, despite feeling like June, with dry ground to match!

Now there is so much new growth in the garden and, we are in the peak propagation weeks of the spring. This is the ideal time, for those who wish to maximize growing by propagating. This really is the last propagation course of the spring!
