When you're making alternative lampshade shapes, getting your frame placement right from the start is key to achieving a professional finish.

✨ Top Tip: Mark your frame joins before you begin!

Here's how:
✔️ Stack your rings on top of each other
✔️ Find the join in the white PVC coating on both rings
✔️ Align the joins in the same position
✔️ Mark them with a pencil for easy reference
✔️ Line your pencil mark up with the short edge of your Stick-It® PVC panel after applying tape
✔️ Move the frames along the PVC, keeping everything aligned

These simple steps will help your lampshade take shape evenly, every time.

1. Getting fabric frays caught under your main fabric
Solution: Always run your hand over your fabric before you start cutting

2. The lampshade seam starts to feel stretched or bows
Solution: Apply the tape on the seam edge gently without pulling

Rolling a handmade lampshade is undoubtably the most exciting part of the making process! 🤩

Here’s our tips for making sure it your rolling goes smoothly:

📍Position the rings on the PVC lampshade panel, 2-3mm from the edge – this results in professional, crisp finished shade edge!

📍When you’re halfway through rolling, turn the lampshade seam toward you, so you can guide the rings easily.

📍If the rings roll out of line, simply roll back and realign.

📍Try not to push down on the rings – this will help you tuck the fabric under in the final lampshade making stage.
