This client really wanted to keep their cast iron fireplace but wanted the higher efficiency, lower fuel consumption and safety of a wood burning stove.
We delivered by removing the cast iron fireplace, installing an inset wood burning stove and then refitting the cast iron fireplace in front of the stove.

A few photos of a recent project in a BISF house in Wantage.
Original cast iron flue removed, frame work adapted to allow for a mock chimney breast to be built.
We then installed a matching tiled hearth, tiled chamber with limestone mantelpiece and a wood burning stove.

The BISF houses are not straightforward to work on but we have the skills, knowledge and experience to deal with them, so if you own this type of house and want a wood burner but didn’t think it was possible get in touch. 🔥
