Another bathroom ticked off for a lovely customer in Widnes

The main aim of the bathroom refurb was for the bath to go and be replaced with a shower tray for easy access. It was thought that the tray would have to go on legs but was able to get the tray in the floor so it’s as low as possible.

The bathroom was stripped back to brick and started all over again. A new Upvc ceiling was fitted rather than a plastered ceiling. LVT flooring fitted rather than tiles on the floor.

Everyday is a school day so they say…. Never seen a lead water main to copper pipe encased in poured lead inside a copper pipe… first for me!

Water main leak, well gushing and had been for potentially 30 years as that’s when the extension was built and kitchen installed…. New kitchen going in and the leak was found. Customer has had damp issues on internals walls over the years 😬 but never found the cause

New lead lock fitted along with a new stop tap ready for the new kitchen install by .joinery

Completed on this cylinder upgrade last week in preparation for the new bathroom suite that is being fitted in July. The old gravity fed system was removed so that the customer will have a powerful shower without the need for a pump. Also upgraded the heating system to pressurised so going forward it’s easier to work on the system.

Discharge pipe was tricky to route to outside but somehow drilled in the right place without measuring 😬

Completed on this bathroom refurb over the weekend.

The customer didn’t want a full new bathroom but wanted to get rid of the wet room and fit a bath. It was suggested that fitted furniture for the basin and toilet would work best in the space that was left and it fitted perfectly. The basin top also allows for storage on top as well as the vanity unit under the basin.

New LVT flooring fitted along with a new towel rail and pipework.

En-suite refurb carried out last week over in Bowden

Following a leak on the concealed shower valve which another had removed it left a fair size hole in the tiles. The shower area was stripped back, new tray, valve and wet wall was installed instead of tiles, this makes it easier to clean with no grout joints. A pre made niche was added.

Also in the second ensuite the electric shower was replaced along with the recently done silicone, another plumber had used white silicone but advised that a jasmine colour would blend in with the tiles, the customer went with the recommendation and you can hardly tell there’s silicone 👌

And the latest bathroom completed this week for an old school mate

When the old bathroom was last fitted for some reason the last fitter / diy guy decided to fit all the pipe above the floor and raise the floor to hide it… it really was like sitting on the throne 😬

Once stripped out then it became apparent why the floor was raised. The floor was removed, soil pipe altered, waste pipe ran inside the chamber to the bath and basin and to the ensuite next door so that when thaw en-suite is refurbed it gives the option to have a tray fitted to the floor or a wet room installed.

The old whirlpool bath bath was removed and a smaller bath fitted which allowed the window wall to be built off so that a concealed cistern could be fitted and niches added, this also allowed a large wall hung basin to be fitted with under cab lights.

New Upvc ceiling fitted, a large flush ceiling mounted shower head was fitted. LVT flooring was fitted once 9mm ply had been laid.

The results are amazing and the niche lights really work well with the tiles picked by the customer 🔥

Bathroom refurb carries out recently for .birchall

After moving the boiler from the bathroom to the loft late last year the bathroom refurb could be carried out.

With moving the bath from under the window and installing the basin next to the toilet. this created more floor space in the bathroom.

Bathroom recently finished over in Crosby, the idea was just to replace the toilet and add a basin, but the idea to was put to them to completely strip the room back to brick and start again.

After having the bathroom designed by .bathrooms.warrington the customer went for the following layout.

A new stud wall fitted with arch going to the shower area was erected. The shower valve was positioned so that you can turn on the shower and get it to the desired temperature without getting wet first. The toilet was moved to the outside wall and a basin was added to the bathroom as it never had one.

The customer went for suite and brassware

The customer fitted his own floor and did his tiling.

Bathroom refurb carried out for a lovely lady, she had been struggling to get in and out of the bath and had a recent fall doing so. This prompted her to swap the bath for a shower tray for easy access.

Bath removed and all the pipe work had to be redone so it ran under the tray.

New tray with wet wall panels fitted, new bar shower, toilet vanity unit fitted to cover the soil pipe which couldn’t be relocated, basin and radiator swapped for towel rail all fitted.

Small bathroom refurb

The customer didn’t want to fully strip the bathroom out, the tiles were kept and the wet room floor and tray were removed, a new large 1000x1000 quad tray was fitted flush to the floor and wet wall panels fitted a new bar shower instead of the electric shower was fitted o to give a more powerful shower. New toilet, basin vanity unit and towel rail fitted. The customer had the floor fitted
