Honestly, I didn't want to take this headache on. After fitting a front door on this property, the customer wanted me back to tackle the back door. This house was built in the 1800s and didn't want me sticking a uPVC frame on it. The old timber frame was in fantastic condition and mostly plumb and level so it seemed daft ripping it out, damaging the render, adding a, lintel and probably damaging the integrity of the surround so it was decided - the frame was staying put for another 100+ years. The old door on the other hand had seen better days so I was happy to replace with a timber one. However, a solid hardwood door these days is £1,600+ then you've the door furniture, painting, maintenance...

Composite door supplier Endurance Doors allowed me to design a door to the specific slab sizes with the desired door furniture and locking system - I just had to fit it.

Every hinge and latch position had a 4inch nail in it and some of the wood was hard as nails. Careful planning for a new sill, Aluminium threshold and rubber seals meant everything fitted perfectly.

The finished result 👌! Another proud installation.

P.S. Unfortunately Warrington Borough Council keep postponing local elections for some reason 🤔 but well done to those that could and did vote yesterday 🙌 !
