Now thats a 100 times better!
Front porch looking top notch after removing all the old blown pebble dashing then renewing and painting.
New front door and frame fitted and painted.
Inside plasterboarded and skimmed.
Down pipe re run and slabs on front step eplaced.
There's no.room.for a house number on the door so I made a litttle plaque with sand and cement.
Roof fixed.... this had been leaking since the day it was built around 20 yrs ago and the cause of all the issues.

This week ive been using a product called limelite on a 200 yr old cottage.
This is an alternative to lime plaster. It provides a breathable system of backing plaster, primer and finishing coat while being cheaper and quicker than using lime.
Limelite finishing plaster can also be used over old/original lime walls and the new insulated cork plaster along with its primer to provide a breathable system.

Some hard graft but it's now looking fantastic.
Really pleased with this....an incredibly dusty old loft is now a beautiful bedroom with an en-suite. A few trades to follow but hopefully this room can start to be used very soon

If you've ever had experience of an old lath and plaster ceiling falling or being taken down you'll know how horrific the dust and mess is. If you haven't, think of how bad it is then x 100.
This is why whenever possible I board over them. Short video of what sits on top of a fairly clean one of about 150yrs old.
Imagine that lot in your bedroom!!!!

CHECK OUT COMPLETED ROOM IN THE COMMENTS!!!! Living room smartened up in Watford.
Whole room re plastered Inc re boarding the ceiling.
The front bay was in a sorry state with the walls being all over the place. A lot of old plaster removed and it's now perfectly plumb.
New skirtings fitted and bay cabinet adjusted to fit the now larger opening before painting the whole room.
Farrow and ball Inchyra Blue.
The customer and I were a little bit worried that such a dark colour may be too much, but now it's done and they have their furniture, pictures and bits and bobs back in we all love it.
Its turned out nice again.
