This floor had issues, customer removed wood flooring for the hall to be tiled whilst the rest of the rooms were having new carpet laid. When I arrived the carpets had been laid on the wood flooring leaving the floor 20mm low with 20mm gaps under the doorframes. Primed floor in prime grip and stuck down 20mm boards then tiled bring all floors level fitted with new doorbars and an oak threshold going into the kitchen.

Just finished this for a lovely family whose bathroom i did in herringbone last year. New feature wall around the log burner. 12mm cement board stuck to wall with adhesive using a 15mm trowel to both wall and board then 100mm fixings done the next day. Replaced original slate skirting and tiled wall in 600x1200mm porcelain tile with Taupe trims and grout. The floor had a length of Bal Rapid Mat covering a crack running the length of room then tiled in a 230x1200mm porcelain wood effect tile with brown grout and brown silicone around the perimeter of the rooms.

Kitchen floor that had been opened up and wet underfloor heating installed, the floor had different levels once walls were removed so I latexed the floor level and installed Ditra Matt then laid 60x90 porcelain tiles in brick bond.

HOW TO LATEX A FLOOR. So I get customers/builders asking can I tile a floor and that they have latexed already. Not once has it been done correctly and had to do it again. Latex is not magic yes it does self level to a degree but needs help you can’t just dump it in and move it about and think that’s it cos it ain’t. So for people who want to latex correctly this is what you do. Firstly work out the amount you need and add an extra 4 bags you do this by setting a laser and finding your highest point and put a 3mm packer there, then with a level set packers every 1m/3ft all over the floor then put your level vertical on the first 3mm packer and mark where the laser hits then do that on every packer you have put down adding or taking away the packers untill the laser hits the mark then stick your packers in place using CT1 or something similar. Then get everything ready dustbins full of water and a measuring bucket and 2 oversized mixing buckets because once you start you can’t stop speed is key, then mix up 2 buckets with a bag in each and using a BIG screeding trowel start pouring it in moving it in lines over the packers so you can just make out the shape of the packer and trowel in big motions so you can hit the packers in each pass. As you go along you may have to put your hand in it to keep the latex just over the packers but latex is messy so just get in there. If at the end you just need half a bucket then just put in half a bucket don’t just dump the whole thing in and think that’s ok. Now the latex will self level any little hollows. And bang you will have a perfectly flat level floor. Failing this leave it up to me to do.
