I wasn’t sure what to do with the spare stumps on this tree at the house of some very good friends, so I opted for a miniature version of their house incorporating two bird boxes and a sheltered table underneath.
Can’t wait to see if it attracts any new residents….

A tricky roof repair that needed more work than showed up on initial inspection.
Rotten structural timber was cut out, replaced, and the soffit and decorative barge board were copied and reinstated.
Finally, the original roof tiles were relaid and the verge repointed.
Carried out with the help of my brother Nick in Essex.
