MAKE SURE YOUR BOILER HAS A SERVICE.
I spent most of yesterday working on a ten year old Vaillant boiler which had never had a service. Not only did it cost several hundred pounds to sort all the problems, it was potentially lethal due to the state it was in. An annual service only costs £90 and could save you more than money in the future.

Always nice to find and fix a gas leak whilst doing a boiler service. Probably been there for about 30yrs!

For those of you that don't already know about 2 years ago Simon Campbell stopped working in financial services and decided on a career change. 2 years later and I am a City&Guilds qualified plumber and a Gas Safe registered engineer running my own business.
