🌺 Geraniums – these vibrant beauties are the superstars of your containers, patios and gardens!

Three reasons to love them…
🌹 They flower from late spring all the way to the first frost
☀️ They love the heat and full sun
💦 Forgotten to water them? Don’t worry geranium is actually prefer the soil to dry out in between waterings.
🤔 There is tonnes of choice - from trailing to upright varieties - so whether they’re in a hanging basket or a container they’re going to look great!

🌸 With yesterdays wind in mind... here's our quick guide to staking perennials. 🌸
🌟The golden rule of staking is to set your supports when the plants are about one-third of their mature height. If you do it early, the plant will grow right through or around the support, hiding it completely by mid-summer.
🛠️ Choose Your Weapon: 3 Ways to Stake
1. Grow-Through Rings & Grids: Perfect for bushy, heavy-headed plants like Peonies, Delphiniums, and Sedum. Push them into the ground early and watch the stems pop neatly through the holes.
2. Single Stakes (Bamboo or Metal): Best for tall, single-spire beauties like Foxgloves, Hollyhocks, or Gladioli. Secure the stem loosely with soft twine using a "figure-eight" loop so the stem can move naturally in the wind without rubbing against the hard stake.
3. Peasticking: For a natural, cottage-garden look, use twiggy branches (like hazel) pushed into the soil around the plant. It creates a rustic, completely free matrix for plants like Geraniums or Catmint to lean on.

June has officially arrived,so here are the top jobs to tackle this month:

🌸 Deadhead & Feed: Keep your roses, bedding plants, and perennials blooming all summer long by pinching off faded flowers. Give them a boost with a liquid feed.

💦 Water Wisely: Water deeply early in the morning or late in the evening so the roots actually drink it up before the sun evaporates it. Don’t forget your hanging baskets—they might need a soak twice a day on scorching days!

✂️ Prune Spring Shrubs: Now that things like Forsythia, Weigela, and Philadelphus have finished flowering, give them a tidy up to encourage fresh growth for next year.

🥬 Protect & Harvest: Harvest your early salad greens, radishes, and strawberries. Keep an eye out for pests.
