There’s something really satisfying about bringing structure and purpose into a garden with well-built planters. We’ve created a range of bespoke planters for customers across Wells and the surrounding area. Some are designed to make the most of awkward or unused spaces, others are simply there to frame a garden, grow produce, or add another layer of interest and depth.

When they’re done properly, they don’t feel like an add-on. They feel like they’ve always belonged.
Everything is built with longevity in mind. Solid timber, carefully constructed, and designed to sit comfortably within the space for years to come.

Simple, practical, and quietly transformative.

If you’ve got an idea in mind, or a space you’d like to make more of, feel free to get in touch. Always happy to talk things through and see what might work.

The photos here show a small selection we have built.

A little update of a transformation taking shape here in Wells.

This is a garden built properly from the ground up. The old turf was stripped out, the soil dug over and improved with organic matter, then carefully levelled and left to settle before being levelled again and bringing in fresh soil for a clean final grade ahead of laying. It’s this attention to what sits beneath that gives you a lawn that actually lasts.

The curve makes the space. Strong, flowing and deliberate. Natural stone anchors one side into the garden, while corten steel sweeps around the rest, holding those lines clean and controlled.

Finished with Rolawn turf and a sprinkler system now in place to support strong establishment.

Already looking sharp, and it will only get better with time.

We focus on sustainable garden solutions that delight people, plants and wildlife.

It’s amazing what a bit of light can do to a space.

A recent update from an ongoing garden build just outside of Wells.

We’ve introduced a low maintenance gravel garden using locally sourced stone to help lift and brighten this shaded garden area.

Curved corten steel edging brings gentle structure and flow, creating a space that feels calm, natural and easy to live with.

More to follow as the project continues.

One of the smallest signs that spring is returning.
Ladybirds are beginning to emerge after winter, often appearing on the first warmer days of the year.
Not only are they a cheerful sight in the garden, they’re also one of nature’s best pest controllers, feeding on aphids and helping keep plants healthy.
A tiny visitor, but an important part of the life of a garden. 🐞

A recently completed installation here in Wells, where we fitted a Jacksons bin store to provide a tidy and well-integrated storage solution.
Constructed from treated softwood and backed by Jacksons’ 25-year guarantee against rot, it offers long-term durability while keeping bins and recycling neatly contained.
The store sits on a hand-built decked base, carefully constructed to provide a solid, level foundation while lifting the structure slightly clear of the ground for longevity.
Framed by a simple gravel surround and set neatly against the house, the result is a practical feature that quietly improves the appearance of the space while keeping everything organised and protected from the wind.
A thoughtful addition that helps the front of the home feel cleaner, calmer and more considered.
If you’re looking for a similar solution, we would be very happy to help.

Thrilled to have had the opportunity to install these bird boxes in wild spaces through a collaboration with Wildlife Trust
We also had a very young — and very keen — team member on site ⭐

Birds play an essential role not just in our gardens, but across the wider UK landscape. They help regulate insect populations, disperse seeds and act as indicators of ecosystem health. When bird numbers decline, it often reflects wider environmental pressures affecting habitats, food chains and biodiversity.
Across farmland, woodland, parks and gardens alike, birds form an important link in the ecological web — supporting natural balance while bringing movement, sound and life to our surroundings.
Simple features such as nest boxes, bird feeders, dense hedging, berry-bearing shrubs and access to fresh water can provide vital shelter, food and breeding opportunities.
Whether in a rural hedgerow or a small town garden, creating space for birds is a meaningful way we can support wildlife.
Little things, done well, really do make a difference. 🌱🐦‍⬛

A before and after in Wells, where we installed striking “Flamingo” pebbles to brighten and simplify this front garden.
The pebbles are contained within railway-style sleeper edging, carefully treated to enhance durability while creating a strong, natural definition to the space.
A refined, low-maintenance solution that elevates the frontage and brings a clean, cohesive finish to the property.

A small detail from a project in Wells — a hedgehog highway built into the fence to help visiting wildlife move safely between gardens.
Hedgehogs can travel surprising distances each night in search of food, but fences and walls often create barriers. A simple 13cm gap can make a real difference, creating connected gardens and safer routes.
These wonderful nocturnal visitors are brilliant natural pest controllers, feeding on slugs, snails and beetles, and they rely on wildlife-friendly spaces to thrive. Leaving a slightly wilder corner, adding log piles or leaf litter, and providing fresh water are all simple ways to support them.
We always enjoy including thoughtful features like this where possible — little things, done well, really can make a big difference. 🦔

A huge thank you to Eco Bloom Gardens for giving Toby the chance to shine ☀️

"Offering Toby a placement has been such a genuinely positive experience for us at Eco‑Bloom. As a small team, Stuart and I work closely together every day, so welcoming Toby into that environment felt completely natural.

He’s brought brilliant enthusiasm, a real willingness to learn, and a consistently positive attitude on site — and that kind of energy truly makes a difference.💚

It’s been incredibly rewarding to share practical skills, introduce him to the variety of landscaping work we do, and watch his confidence grow in a real working environment.

Programmes like this are so valuable. They give people the chance to properly explore the industry, while allowing small businesses like ours to play a small part in supporting the next generation. ✨- Eco Bloom Gardens"

There’s something deeply satisfying about bringing a water feature back to life after its seasonal clean.

This one here in Wells acts almost like a long, narrow pond. Beneath the surface it holds aquatic planting, with a little soft surface growth too — so it needs proper care, not just a quick tidy.

We removed the built-up winter debris and thinned the aquatic planting within the feature itself to keep the water clear, healthy and flowing as it should. Once it was running again, the whole garden felt like it was really coming alive again.

the local blackbirds had been enthusiastically digging in the beds… so Stew stepped in with the brush for one final sweep before we left 🐦🧹

We focus on sustainable garden solutions that delight people, plants and wildlife — and that includes looking after water features properly through the seasons.

If yours needs a refresh, feel free to get in touch.

Little things, done well, make a big difference.

An early morning view and wander at The Belfry after a brilliant Millboard training day.

There’s something special about stepping into a beautiful landscape when the world is quiet — water moving, decking underfoot and thoughtful planting all around.

Funny thing is… even on a break, my mind drifts straight to design ideas, better details and improvements. Not from criticism, but simply from love of the craft.

It reminded me why I started Eco-Bloom — to create outdoor spaces that feel calm, natural and lasting.

I recently saw a post from Greg Wittstock about true intelligence showing in building a life that genuinely makes you happy. That really stayed with me.

Only yesterday I was questioning and asking whether I was on the right path — building a business around Millboard decks and aquascape ponds and water features. This morning I wake up, "coincidentally", looking straight onto a Millboard deck and a pond… and naturally my mind goes straight to how beautifully it could evolve using Aquascape principles and products.

After months of applying those systems and learning from the community, I’m incredibly grateful to see the business growing in ways I once only hoped for. It’s humbling — and a reminder that none of us do this alone.

Greg — thank you not only for the inspiration, but also for the small personal encouragement to start sharing more of the journey online. The thumbs up, the martini and the message behind them meant more than you may realise.

It’s a real privilege to be beginning this path alongside such a generous community.

True happiness and fulfilment, for me, is simply creating beautiful spaces for people, wildlife and plants whilst continuing to grow alongside the people who inspire that journey.
