A customer who had recently moved into a property in Hitchin contacted Active Lock Centre because they wanted complete peace of mind about who might still have keys to their new home.
After discussing their requirements, I carried out a full lock change on the front door, back door and patio doors, ensuring the property was secure from day one.

Is Your Home Ready for the Summer Holidays?
Summer is fast approaching, and whether you're heading abroad or enjoying a holiday here in the UK, your home and possessions are left behind while you're away.
Before you set off, it is worth taking a few minutes to think about your home security. If your front or back door has become stiff to lock or unlock, or your windows are becoming difficult to operate, now is the time to get them checked. Small issues can quickly become bigger problems, especially when a property is left unoccupied.
It is also worth asking yourself how secure your locks really are. Many older uPVC and composite door locks do not offer the same level of protection as modern anti-snap, anti-pick, and anti-bump cylinders. Upgrading your locks could significantly improve the security of your home while you are away.
If you use a key safe to allow a neighbour, friend, or family member access to water plants, feed pets, or check on your property, make sure it is a Secure by Design approved key safe. Many cheaper key safes offer very little protection and can present an easy target for criminals. A poor-quality key safe can undermine the security of even the best door lock.

What a great day at the SKS Ltd T/A JMA UK Open Day!

I had the pleasure of working alongside Paul Batty on the Souber Tools stand, helping out on behalf of Paul Souber, who unfortunately couldn't make the event this year.

It was fantastic meeting so many locksmiths, demonstrating some of the brilliant tools in the Souber range, answering questions, and catching up with both familiar and new faces from across the industry.

A big thank you to Paul Batty for all his hard work throughout the day. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and willingness to help made the day a real success, and it was a pleasure working alongside him.

Ever left your keys on the inside of the door and realised it the moment the door clicked shut?

It's one of those situations that can instantly turn a good day into a stressful one.

That's exactly what inspired this fun comic and song. A customer found themselves locked out with the keys stuck on the inside of the door. One phone call to Active Lock Centre and help was on the way.
