Another chimney brought back to life and protected from future water ingress. Take a look at the transformation.

This recent project involved a chimney that was allowing damp to pe*****te through the structure and into the property. On inspection, we found failed chimney capping, cracks within the chimney stack, and areas of leadwork that required attention.

Our team carried out a full programme of repairs, including:

✅ Rebuilding the chimney capping
✅ Raking out and repairing structural cracks
✅ Updating leadwork where required
✅ Applying two coats of durable pliolite masonry paint for a long-lasting finish

🔥 Another beautiful installation completed by Duchy Stoves & Chimneys 🔥

We recently carried out this stunning installation for a customer who kindly shared this photo of the finished result.

The stove chosen for this project is the Arada M Series 5 Widescreen, featuring a cast iron door, low stand, direct air kit, and heat shield - a fantastic choice for both performance and style.

Here’s what we did for this installation:
✅ Positioned and laid the slate hearth in the customer’s chosen location.
✅ Set the stove in place to suit the installation.
✅ Cut through the wall at 45° and ran the flue pipe through a wall sleeve into a 135° ‘T’.
✅ Made good the internal and external wall to ensure a weather-tight finish, including stainless steel trim plates inside and out.
✅ Installed a twin wall flue system up the exterior wall, with an offset around the soffit, finishing above the roofline at regulation height with all necessary supports.
✅ Commissioned and tested the appliance.
✅ Removed all waste materials and left the site clean and tidy.
✅ Notified HETAS in accordance with building regulations and supplied a carbon monoxide alarm.

The result speaks for itself - a stylish, efficient, and professionally installed stove ready for the colder months.

🛠️ Labourer Needed – roughly 1 Week Job in West Looe 🛠️
We’re looking for someone to help out with a chimney rebuild in West Looe – about a week’s worth of work, starting Wednsday 30th April.
What you’ll be doing:

General labouring – lifting, shifting, keeping things tidy
Helping the team with materials and basic site tasks

What we need from you:

Fit and able to do physical work
Reliable and on time
Some experience on site would be great, but not essential

When: 30th April
Where: West Looe
Pay: Good rate – depends on experience
