Maintaing your windows Part 1
Oil can build up on your hinges and locking mechanisms, at least once a year, to increase the working life of hinges and mechanisms it is essential to lubricate all mechanical parts. we recommend you only use only silicone-based sprays. This will help to keep the operation of opening and closing smooth and more frictionless. It is also advisable to clean the rubber gaskets as this will help to prevent them becoming brittle and shrinking or splitting

Now the winter months are here upon us and with ever increasing energy costs now is the time to carry out repairs to your UPVC Windows and Doors. Did you know that misted units are not just unsightly but as the vacuum between the two panes have been broken the cold and wind can now enter and the same applies to the rubber gaskets that have shrunk and to any damaged buckled hinges (see photos)

"I had my windows fitted by Northdown Windows over two years age and just recently one of the glazed units started to mist up. I called Northdown's number and the guy who answered informed me he had just taken over the Company..but despite this he agreed to renew the unit at no cost and called round within hours of my call to measure up. After a couple of weeks the fitter arrived and fitted my new unit. A trustworthy company and very reliable.....highly recommended."
