If you have a Upvc or composite door and it's getting difficult to lift the handle and locate the mechanism then it's a good idea to get it looked at before something breaks and it ends up costing considerably more. In the picture a part has sheared in two due to handle being forced into position.

This customer moved into a new flat recently and the post box key had gone missing. Attended this morning, picked open the postbox and fitted new lock with 2 keys.

Keys had been lost for this external electrical cupboard. Existing lock picked open and new cylinder fitted. Job done.

Please be careful when searching for a tradesman etc. These advertise a very cheap price up front on Google listings and then look at the cost of the final bill. If something looks too good to be true chances are it probably is.

Sometimes I have customers questioning my prices, for call out fees for lockouts. Please read this post, from a locksmith in the UK, who is trying to help an old lady get a refund for her lockout charges;

(Poor old lady locked out by the wind putting the bins out at 8am.
Door was just closed on the latch and had a letterbox.
Eastern European chap arrived in a car from 40 miles away and attempted to pick the existing cylinder for all of 30 seconds before getting the drill out and drilling the cylinder and telling the old lady that she needed a new cylinder and mechanism. She’s been left with a new cylinder and an overnight lock mechanism for this hefty price.

Someone had been looking into these types of invoices so wondered if anyone is able to help her with pursuing a refund of any sort or even taking them to court?)
