If I do say so myself, I got to make an absolutely beautiful bespoke solid oak gate the other week!

It really was a pleasure to make and reflects a culmination of around three years of learning on my part.

Pure joinery and with room for the wood’s natural contraction or expansion process depending on the temperature.

Treated with oil to bring out the rich tones of the wood and protect it from the elements.

In 2021, we helped clear this garden and put together a flat pack summer house the client bought.

Unfortunately, as it’s an area exposed to the wind, it didn’t stand the test of time and the client approached us again for help.

Solution - we built a bespoke one instead!

Really happy with how it turned out - all custom made using solid wood and we glazed the windows too.

Most importantly, it will be a much sturdier structure that should be there for years to come - all for not much more than the flat pack version!

A lovely pergola with a bitumen tiled roof we did a few months back!

Special thanks to Groundscape for the herringbone tiled floor. Also, some great resourcefulness from the client, who used the old decking they pulled up to make a decking wall behind.

Will look brilliant once it’s got some furniture and plants underneath, the perfect shady spot for these hot summer days🥵

A decking area we completed at the end of last year. This lovely young couple had recently moved in and this area was where all the evening sun was and they wanted to make better use of what was an overgrown vegetable garden. Concrete posts for longevity, double membrane in case there were any deep roots or bulbs and gravel to hold it all down and help with drainage. A massive transformation and a very happy couple with a new quiet space to escape to.

These are 2 pairs of driveway gates recently made and fitted, one set opening out and one set opening in. Both sets custom made to specific sizes and treated with 10 year (according to the manufacturer) waterproofing to help stop warping and bowing, ready to paint or just left to silver gracefully.

A small recent job that gave me a lot of satistaction. This area next to the pond was a w**d patch and has very boggy soil because all the garden drains off to it. Couldn’t fix to the pond, and setting wooden posts on the soil would rot them out really quickly. The solution was to set threaded rod into the ground inside 2’ deep concrete pilings, then build the frame off the ground to keep everything dry. Also added 3 layers of top quality membrane to stop perennial w**ds coming through and added 20mm gravel to help drainage and hold the membrane down longer term. Also edged the pond which had been reclined to compliment the deck and finish it all off.
Now the lovely owner has got a beautiful little area to relax in with a glass of wine and a good book 😀
