☀️ Hot Week Working Away at Smallbrook Care Home ☀️

What a week it's been!

🚐 We travelled up on Bank Holiday Monday, with the journey taking over 4 hours to reach our B&B ready for an early start.

Tuesday 🔹 Ripped out 245sqm of corridor and bedroom gel-back carpet 🔹 Completed 2 wetrooms

Wednesday 🔹 Installed a massive 17.5m carpet drop 🔹 Fitted 6 smaller drops around corridor corners 🔹 Completed another 2 wetrooms

Thursday - Final Day 🔹 Installed 7 more carpet drops to finish the main corridor 🔹 Fitted 2 bedrooms in a fresh new green carpet 🔹 Completed the final wetroom 🔹 Installed the last corridor section measuring 13.5m long

With temperatures soaring both outside and inside the building, this one was certainly a challenge! 🥵

The hard work paid off though, as we completed everything with a day to spare, allowing us to travel home on Friday and enjoy the start of the weekend with our families before the school holidays come to an end.
A huge effort from the team and another project completed to a high standard 💪

🚨 Damp Nightmare! 🚨

After ripping up this customer’s old floor, we discovered it was badly affected by damp and mould underneath 😬

Unfortunately, we didn’t have the correct materials with us on the day to properly rectify the issue, but after explaining the problem and the best solution, Bob was more than happy to wait and have it done correctly 👍

We returned to:
✔️ Apply F. Ball F77 DPM to stop the damp penetrating again
✔️ Leave it to cure for 24 hours
✔️ Prime and latex the floor for a perfectly smooth finish
✔️ Install this lovely Altro Pisces Blue Penguin safety flooring 🐧💙

Even though the job took longer than expected, Bob was really pleased with the final result — and agreed it was definitely worth the wait!

🔥 Day 2 Progress Update 🔥

After a full day of prep yesterday, today was all about the fitting!
📏 7 heat-seamed joints completed, from kitchen to bedroom is a massive 24 meters long.
📐 Longest joint measuring 7.7 metres
🧵 3 carpets over 7 metres long
🏠 2 bedrooms completed, 1 led out ready for Corey tomorrow.
Just the finishing touches to do tomorrow morning and phase one is wrapped up 💪

Then next week we return for:
✨ LVT flowing through the entrance, utility and downstairs toilet
🪜 Carpet on the stairs
🛏️ Final carpet in the downstairs bedroom
This project is really starting to come together now!

🔥 Look at this great opportunity we’ve got this week! 🔥

We’ve been a little quiet on social media lately because we’ve been absolutely inundated with work — and we’re incredibly grateful for it. Business has been booming, with both new and returning customers, plus some great new companies we’re now working alongside 🙌

This week’s project is a mammoth one:

🚐 2 vans loaded with carpet, underlay, gripper and all the essentials

🏠 A full day spent sticking gripper and laying underlay over a first-floor underfloor heated concrete screed
📏 200sqm of carpet to start installing tomorrow

This one is being completed in two phases:
• 3 days this week – upstairs
• 3 days next week – downstairs and stairs

💪 Smashed it again, Corey!
Another great job completed — 2 bedrooms, landing and stairs all smashed out by Corey AGAIN 👏
This time in a new build on Portland, fitted with a lovely grey twist carpet to finish it off nicely.
Quality work, quick turnaround, and another happy customer.
Well done Corey! 🔥

🏡 Big Project Incoming!

We’ve got the pleasure of transforming this massive house — removing the old stuck-down hard-wearing carpets and replacing them with a soft underlay, gripper, and twist pile carpet, plus a brand new LVT ground floor for a fresh modern finish.

We’re still trying to work out how we’re getting these monster carpet rolls up those stairs 😅… but where there’s a will, there’s a way 💪

Now it's all ripped up the painters can do there job and we prepare to tackle this beast in the coming weeks.

Sorry we’ve been a bit quiet!

Our “busy season” clearly decided to start from day one this year 😅 — and honestly, we’re amazed and humbled by the amount of work coming in, especially the number of returning customers. We can’t thank you all enough for the continued support 🙌

Here are a few running cove wetrooms we’ve completed over the past couple of weeks — clean lines, seamless finish, and built to last.

A little thank you goes a long way ❤️
A customer dropped us off this lovely card today – a small gesture, but one we’re incredibly grateful for.
After discovering carpet moth in her flat, we stripped everything back, replaced all carpets and underlay, and finished it off by fitting a brand-new kitchen vinyl. A big job, but absolutely worth it to get everything right.
We’re always happy to help move furniture for customers who are unable to, as long as we know in advance – it’s all part of the service.
Another happy customer and another reminder why we love what we do.

Weekly round up

Another strong week 💪
• Another care home carpet replacement at Ferndown Manor
• A new bathroom vinyl and subfloor repair in a hotel room in Sherborne
• A whole house carpet fitted ready for an expecting mum and baby to return home to 🍼
• A late night repair at Poundland in Boscombe, sorting the shop floor after hours
• Back on the wetrooms for Paice on a miserable Thursday, followed by latexing a top floor unit
• Finished the week with a new kitchen vinyl, an expansion strip replacement and… more latex 😅

A good week had by all and no signs of slowing down 🚀
