The standard syringa—commonly known as the common lilac—refers to Syringa vulgaris, a deciduous flowering shrub widely grown for its fragrance and spring blooms.
Flowers:
Highly fragrant, tubular flowers with four spreading lobes, arranged in dense, pyramidal panicles. Blooming occurs in mid to late spring.
Growing Conditions:
Prefers full sun and well-drained soil. It is winter hardy

Job Type:** Full-Time with immediate start
**About Us:**
We are a busy and well-established garden Nurseries dedicated to providing high-quality plants, gardening products, and excellent customer service. We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team.
**The Role:**
As a Garden Centre Operative, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the centre. This includes handling deliveries, maintaining stock levels, assisting customers, and ensuring the site is clean, safe, and well-presented.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Operating a forklift truck to load, unload, and move stock safely
* Receiving and checking deliveries of plants, compost, and garden products
* Assisting with stock replenishment and merchandising
* Maintaining outdoor plants and back stock of plants
* Providing friendly and helpful customer service
* General maintenance and housekeeping of the garden centre
* Supporting the team during busy seasonal periods

**Requirements:**
* Valid forklift truck licence/ fork truck experience (essential)
* Experience in a garden centre, horticulture, or similar environment (preferred but not essential)
* Physically fit and able to handle manual work outdoors in all weather
* Strong teamwork and communication skills
* A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
