Great meeting with clients and contractor this morning, finalising the finer details of the project. Good design is about balancing aesthetics, budget, and practicality—and getting the specification right is key. Today’s surprisingly lively discussion centred around toilets, but it’s a reminder that the everyday elements of a building can have the biggest impact on how people experience and enjoy a space!

A real pleasure to be at the launch of the Iron Age door exhibition today with a fantastic talk from Graeme Cavers of AOC Archaeology Group in the roundhouse, followed by exploring the new exhibits in The Whithorn Trust museum.

Fantastic to see my photograph on the wall behind the original timbers from 435BC now preserved for all to enjoy and be in awe of for years to come!

Hard to believe it’s ten years since I was working on the design and construction of this superb reconstruction of an Iron Age roundhouse!

Congratulations to all involved in creating a superb exhibition and addition to the museum. 🤩

What a surprise to see a former client appear on Scotland's Home of the Year this evening! Five years ago I obtained planning consent for her fabulous new windows and doors by Bairds Windows Ltd.
