SECURITY DOG HANDLERS REQUIRED — MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
Hallmark Security is recruiting experienced Security Dog Handlers for full-time PAYE-employed positions across several areas.
We can employ successful applicants under either of the following arrangements:
✅ Company vehicle provided, paid at the standard hourly rate; or
✅ Use of your own approved dog-handling vehicle, paid at an enhanced hourly rate.
Both options are PAYE-employed positions. Applicants using their own vehicle must have a suitable, compliant and appropriately insured dog-handling vehicle that meets Hallmark Security’s safety, welfare and operational standards.

Aberdeen
Handlers required: 2
Hours of operation: 19.00 – 07.00
Typical shift length: 12 Hours
• £15.00 per hour with a company vehicle
• £17.50 per hour using your own approved vehicle
Edinburgh
Handlers required: 3
Hours of operation: 20.00 - 06.00
Typical shift length: 10 Hours
• £15.00 per hour with a company vehicle
• £17.50 per hour using your own approved vehicle
Shift allocations and working patterns will be discussed during the recruitment process. Applicants should clearly state their preferred location, availability and vehicle requirement.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
✅ A valid SIA licence
✅ A full UK manual driving licence
✅ A valid NASDU Security Dog Handler Team Certificate, or another recognised equivalent qualification
✅ Previous operational security dog-handling experience
✅ Good communication skills
✅ The ability to complete reports and required documentation accurately
✅ A professional approach to dog welfare, operational standards and site procedures
✅ A willingness and ability to meet BS7858 screening and vetting requirements
Role Responsibilities
The role will include:
• Conducting regular security patrols throughout the shift
• Maintaining a visible, alert and professional security presence
• Monitoring sites and reporting suspicious activity, hazards or security concerns
• Completing patrol records, incident reports, dog welfare records and other required documentation accurately
• Working in accordance with assignment instructions, company procedures, client requirements and relevant legislation
• Maintaining high standards of dog welfare, presentation, training and operational readiness
• Carrying out appropriate checks on vehicles, equipment and dog transport arrangements
• Reporting incidents, defects, concerns or welfare issues promptly
• Communicating professionally with clients, members of the public, colleagues and control staff
• Responding appropriately to incidents while remaining within training, legal authority and company procedures
