Tree relocation day!

We got the big toys out today...

We found a couple of these stunning trees on a re-development site which were due to be removed by chainsaw! But we saw the potential for their future survival with a bit of machine and man power šŸ’ŖšŸ» we uprooted, transported and re-homed these trees using a crane all within the day!

They have totally transformed the impact of the clients front garden almost instantly.

Good job done all round, here’s to the survival of these lucky Cordylines šŸ„‚

We undertook some National trust safety works.

We had a number of trees over hanging busy foot paths that needed dead wooding/ making safe very delicately not to damage and part of the tree as they are all of great value for habitat and the future of the trees health.

We opted to use a MEWP (mobile elevated working platform) to minimise damage to the tree through climbing. We had to do some cage dismounts to access awkward/ dangerous limbs. It allowed us to get up the tree safely and easily with minimal effort to carry out the task in hand!

We met a few friends along the way...they couldn’t resist some fresh Oak leaves which were out their reach!

Oh and I thought I’d share some of the views from up there too. 🌳 🦌 šŸƒ

A rear garden conifer removal as was causing subsidence to several walls around the house. The customer couldn’t wait to see how much extra light they would have in their garden....shame it was a stormy/ grey day so we couldn’t catch the customers reaction once we were done and tidy!

Here we have a mature oak-

The customer had a row of several Oak trees. The one in the photo stood out like a saw thumb as it was full of ivy and had a totally different shape to the rest.

-We stripped bundles of ivy out from the crown and severed the rest at the base of the tree.
-Reduced the crown to match the rest of the trees taking off 1-5 metres in different areas.
-Raised the canopy to match and allow more light into the underlying shrub beds.

The customer was over the moon and couldn’t believe how it transformed the whole look of his drive way. Couldn’t have been happier!

With time the rest of the ivy will drop off and the tree will be back to its full beauty before you know it!

A few photos of our more delicate reductions,

They vary from 10%- 20% crown reductions including thinning out of the inner crown by taking out any dead wood and cross rubbing branches.

Simple but very affective for added sunlight to all areas of your gardens! Including your swimming pool!!

Dealing with a dangerous limb on a tall Pine- this limb had snapped out in the high winds, the customers house in which it was had a timber stair case leading into the bottom of their chine, which it would have destroyed if it fell.

In the end we installed a 40 metre zip line. It took the limb perfectly to the bottom of the chine ready to be made into a habitat pile! No damage, no mess...jobs a good’un!

We left the cut as natural as possible so no machinery was used, just good old fashioned hand tools!
