WDSME is an engineering/railway club which opens up to the public on the First and Third Sunday of the month between April and October. We are a small friendly group of members young and old that come from all walks of life and do not necessarily have an engineering background. The club was started in 1975 and from that day has grown into a very attractive little railway. Members meet on Sundays t

hroughout the year to do general maintenance or just to have a chat and a cuppa. We are always looking for new members to join us, whether or not you have a railway interest. Feel free to pop along to one of our running days to see the club in action. History:
The above society was formed in 1975 by a few enthusiasts with a common interest in model engineering, small steam locomotives in particular. Our first objective was to find a site were we could build a layout...We approached Wimborne council with an offer to build a layout similar to what you see on the photo’s in one of the councils recreation parks, this offer was rejected. In 1975 Flight Refuelling Sports and Social Club kindly offered us the present site. All the structures and landscaping on our layout have been built by the members past and present.

The trains will be running again this bank holiday Monday 11-4pm, why not pop along for a train ride on this great little railway. Garden railways will also be operating situated in our picnic area. All rides are on a donation basis. Hope to see you there.

The railway is open this Sunday 17th for its annual 'Anything Goes Gala' 11-4pm. All gauges will be operating with steam and diesel hauled trains. Rides are on a donation basis (cash or card accepted). Our refreshment stand will be open with hot & cold drinks plus some tasty treats. Plenty of extra exhibits will be on display including miniature tanks, old vehicles and a traction engine. Why not pop along and see what's going on at this picturesque miniature railway. Please note: car parking may be busy, use overflow parking just after our site, park responsibility to avoid congestion. The footbridge will be open from the main car park to the railway. Please be careful if accessing by the level crossing. We hope you enjoy your day with us.

Special Notice
The railway will be open again this Sunday 17th for its annual 'Anything Goes Gala' 11-4pm. All gauges will be operating with steam and diesel hauled trains.
