Casting Notice: Open Auditions

Allendale Theatre Company
Presents: Round The Horne

Our inaugural production will be a live recreation of the timeless BBC radio show, Round The Horne, performed in front of an audience in the style of a radio recording.

We plan for two matinee performances, on Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th September, and we're now looking for actors to portray Kenneth Horne, Kenneth Williams, Hugh Paddick, Betty Marsden and Douglas Smith, plus two live sound effects performers.

Can you see - or rather hear - yourself in one of these roles? If so, we're holding an Open Audition on Sunday 5th July, 6pm to 8pm.

Ideal actors should be able to commute daily to Wimborne, Dorset for rehearsals and performances.

Just come in with an idea of whom you could best portray and you'll be asked to read excerpts from the script for that performer.

To find out more, please email [email protected] or call 01202 887247.

Strictly Murder: Death in the Drawing Room
Sunday 21st June, 2pm
www.theallendale.org/murder

This popular interactive murder mystery puts you in the centre of the action as you assist Detective Inspector Foote of the Yard to catch the killer... the perfect event for a detective dad this Father's Day.

It is 10th May 1921, and Astbury House plays host to an elegant gathering. Guests sip drinks beneath the watchful eye of Sir Reginald Astbury, patriarch of the family and master of the estate. But behind the grandeur of the drawing room lies a household steeped in resentment, secrets, and long buried grief. When tragedy strikes, suspicion falls on those closest to him - each with motive enough to see the old tyrant silenced.

Ticket price includes a 2-course meal of steak and ale pie with mashed potato and seasonal veg, followed by fruit crumble with custard. Vegetarian options are available.

www.theallendale.org/persephone

This summer solstice, audiences are invited to experience one of the most captivating myths of Ancient Greece, brought vividly to life on stage by Artemis Community Theatre company.

The story of Persephone, daughter or Demeter and Zeus, is one of love, loss and rebirth. When Hades, the mysterious god of the Underworld, falls in love with her, he carries her away to his dark kingdom. There, she becomes his queen - a role both powerful and bittersweet. Each year, Persephone rises once more to the world above, bringing with her the return of spring and the blossoming of new life.
