With so many plants coming into active growth this month, now’s the time to give them a boost with the right feed. Roses and other flowering plants, especially those in containers, will benefit from a high-potassium feed to encourage strong blooms all season long. For leafy greens, shrubs, and vegetables, a high-nitrogen feed is best to support healthy foliage and vigorous growth.

Head Gardener Ashley, , is here with some simple watering tips to help your garden thrive.

💧 A deep soak every so often is far better and it encourages roots to grow deeper and stronger, helping plants cope better in dry spells.

💧Pots need extra attention too, especially in spring and summer. Even on cooler or cloudy days, containers can dry out surprisingly quickly, so it’s important to keep checking them. Also, adding a saucer underneath can help hold onto extra moisture for longer.

💧Water early in the morning whenever possible as it gives plants time to dry throughout the day, helping to reduce fungal problems and making your garden less inviting for slugs.

💧If you’re watering plug plants? Use a tray to soak them from below, less waste, less mess and much more effective.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show has always been the flag bearer for garden design trends, and this year’s show was awash with a palette of silvers and soft pastels 🌿✨

Think drought-tolerant perennials, Mediterranean favourites and silver-leaved shrubs bringing texture, movement and long-lasting colour to sunny spaces. From dry borders to container planting, these resilient, sun-loving plants are perfectly suited to the season ahead.

Which Chelsea trend are you bringing into your garden this summer? ☀️

An end of an era at RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Since its launch, Project Giving Back has transformed Chelsea into more than a showcase of extraordinary garden design. It has created a platform for charities to tell meaningful stories through landscapes that inspire, educate and leave a lasting impact.

This year marks the final chapter for Project Giving Back, and James Basson’s garden at this year’s show feels like a fitting metaphor for its legacy: thoughtful, enduring and deeply rooted in purpose. A garden that speaks not only to beauty, but also to resilience, generosity and the power of creating something that lives on long after the show ends.

We’re incredibly proud that our Founder, Mark Fane, has been part of this journey as a Trustee of Project Giving Back, helping to support an initiative that has changed the face of Chelsea and amplified the work of so many important charities.

Here, Crocus Resident Garden Designer Lucy Willcox explores the legacy of Project Giving Back and how James has brought this vision to life through the design of his garden at this year’s show.

A remarkable legacy for the gardening world, and one that will continue to influence Chelsea for years to come.

Earlier this week at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, Crocus Resident Garden Designer Lucy Willcox spent time with designer Patrick Clarke in his thoughtful Children’s Society Garden.

Together, they explored some of the ideas behind the planting design, including how the scheme gradually softens as you move through the space, transitioning from bold, energetic planting into a calmer, more restful palette.

Created as a welcoming garden for teenagers, the space has been designed to encourage moments of pause, reflection and conversation, whether with friends, family or counsellors from The Children’s Society.

A strong theme of renewal runs throughout the garden, with discarded materials repurposed into beautiful, functional features. The planting reflects this too, beginning with fresh spring greens and soft buttery yellows before deepening into resilient purples selected for their ability to thrive in more challenging conditions.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more conversations and details from this inspiring garden.

⭐️ It’s gold all round ⭐️

We are delighted to have to have partnered with Tom Stuart-Smith for our 12th collaboration and to have won our 36th gold medal at RHS Chelsea Flower Show. And the icing on the cake, we’ve also been awarded the coveted 5 stars for our trade stand at this years show.

The garden, created for Tate Britain, has been match-funded by Project Giving Back and the Clore Duffield Foundation. The team at Crocus built the garden and worked alongside Dave Root of to provide the trees, shrubs and wider herbaceous perennials.

Designed by Tom Stuart-Smith for Tate Britain, the garden explores the connection between art, landscape and community. Following the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the garden will be relocated to Tate Britain, where it will become a permanent public garden for visitors, extending the project’s legacy beyond Chelsea and providing a lasting green space in central London.

“We are absolutely delighted to have partnered with Tom Stuart-Smith and Tate Britain and played a role in creating this legacy garden,” said Mark Fane, Co-founder of Crocus. “Last year I said that I’d retired from building gardens at Chelsea, but the chance to be partnering with Tom and involved in such an important project was too much to miss.”

For a lot of the year, especially in the UK, your garden isn’t just something you step into, it’s something you live with, all year round, from inside the house 🌿

shares why it’s so important to design with the view from indoors in mind. Getting the evergreen structure right first creates a strong backbone through every season, then perennials can be layered in to bring movement, colour and change.
It’s this balance that keeps a garden feeling alive, even on the greyest days.
