Bulb lasagne and winter flowers. If you want to add some longevity to your pots, why not try planting bulbs that will flower into next year. Bottom layer are Tulips, middle Narcissus (daffodils) and first layer are Iris. On top of these are my winter plants. Once winter flowers are passed their best, the Iris will appear and flower, then the daffodils and lastly the tulips. Taking me to April time. Ready for summer pots!

First time at Chelsea Flower Show and it was brilliant! Most designs focused on natural look offering so much colour, movement and sound. A brilliant combination thats right up my street! New plants to fall in love with and brilliant ideas on how love up shady areas!! The pavillion gives such a big list of popular plants, the roses and dahlias being my fav! A bit of Irish success in the last photo!! Oih oih! A definite annual event for me!

Clearing out a mini woodland. Ready for some plants and winter/spring naturalising. Autumn is the time for bulb planting and I've quite a few to plant between customers.

Changing a lawn to a prairie in less than 6 months. What pleasure the flowers bring! With more plants to show their glory over the coming seasons. Next year will look even better as the plants mature.

So the Olympics begin. Big shout out to our Windsor rowing competitors. Matilda (our trusted babysitter in her teens) will be coxing the women's eight and Ollie will be rowing in the men's coxless four. All of us past members of Eton Excelsior Rowing Club! Hope they have a ball, cherishing such and experience and of course, wishing them tons of luck! And since that's nothing to do with gardening, heres a few spuds I dug up earlier! 😉

Before, after and next. Reviving a garden previously adored. Favourite plants saved and the bed nearly ready for new ones. A few stumps to be removed and soil improver to be added beforehand. But really looking forward to seeing it full and alive again. On with the next job on the other side....only larger!

Another year later and the plaiting of the garlic is complete. Thankfully these are for consumption only as they while some have grown like normal garlic, others are a bit on 'less compact' side (different variety). But all can be stored and munched. Most of it will go on Spaghetti Aglio E Olio from Donal Sekan's Meals in Minutes cookbook! One of the best ever meals for my teenagers!! Try it!! 🇮🇪

Better late than never. With bad weather, work, parenting, studying, the allotment has not anything new added to it. Until today!! Carrots!! Sweet Candle and Chantenay! Also weeded, was followed around by a hungry blackbird, picked Pak Choi and made our lunch with it. Garlic and chilli Pak Choi and broccoli with put lentils. Love this picking and eating lark! Will be a while before you see my carrots on a plate tho! 🥕🥕
