Great to welcome VELUX to the studio for our latest CPD session.

We explored the impact of daylight design within residential architecture, looking at how windows, rooflights and skylights can completely transform a space through light, shadow and atmosphere, whilst also discussing the technical side of specification from energy performance and ventilation to the latest materials, finishes and product innovations within the VELUX range.

Recently we had the pleasure of having one of our residential projects in Marlow professionally photographed by .novella .photography

This project included a full refurbishment, side extension, garden room and new sitting room space, with our team involved throughout every stage, from planning and design through to construction and completion.

Seeing projects come to life, and having the opportunity to revisit them once fully lived in, is always one of the most rewarding parts of the process.

On our way into London during a site visit day, we stopped at Paddington Station to take a closer look at the use of hit-and-miss brickwork.

The perforated façade creates a dynamic relationship with the surrounding environment, allowing natural light to filter through and cast shifting patterns across the space beneath the large glass roof.

Brick continues to be a recurring topic within our studio not only as a material, but as a system capable of shaping light, rhythm, and spatial experience.

Our clients approached us to support the extension and refurbishment of their Grade II Listed home, located within a conservation area.

From the outset, the focus was on understanding both the property and how they lived within it, ensuring the design responded carefully to the building’s character while improving the functionality of their home.

Working closely with the clients and their chosen builders, the project evolved through a complex planning and Listed Building Consent process.

There were many ups and downs along the way, as is often the case when working with a Listed building rich in historic character. We’re really pleased to have recently completed the project and are proud of the final outcome.
