My client came to me knowing she wanted to add panelling to her lounge, but had no idea where to begin.

She booked a Design Clarity Session and, in two hours, we had a plan.

We talked through the different layout options, I recommended the one I knew would work best for her space, and we went through how she could implement it herself — from the process to the equipment she would need.

Receiving these pictures and seeing the finished result is exactly why I love what I do. She took my advice, implemented the plan herself and, most importantly, went into the project feeling 100% confident that she was making the right decisions.

I had every intention of sitting down at my desk today and cracking straight on with website stuff and my to-do list…
But as soon as I sat down, I just felt stressed 😂

After time away from my desk, apparently what I actually needed was a reset day!

There’s something about clearing the physical clutter that clears my head too. I feel so much more focused and ready to get going again.

Anyone else need a good sort-out before their brain can properly get back into work mode?

A birthday spent doing something a little different 🦉🤎

Yesterday we celebrated my husband’s 40th at , and what a wonderful experience it was.

We got to get up close with some incredible birds of prey, learn all about them and their individual personalities, and see the passion and knowledge that goes into caring for them.

Such a memorable way to mark a big birthday ✨

Being an interior designer involves a lot more time behind a laptop than you might imagine, so there’s something I really love about putting the plans and samples to one side, picking up a paintbrush and actually getting stuck in.

Whether it’s transforming a piece of furniture, adding panelling to a wall or simply having a move around and restyle at home, I love how these little projects can make a space feel fresh again.

And there’s something so satisfying about doing it yourself.

Anyone else find a bit of DIY strangely therapeutic?

Do you ever feel like a room is missing something, but you can't quite put your finger on what it is?  Often, it's not the colour, furniture or accessories. It's the lack of a focal point. 

Without a focal point, rooms can often feel disconnected or unfinished, even when they're beautifully decorated. We instinctively look for something to orient ourselves around, whether that's a fireplace, a statement piece of furniture or a striking piece of artwork. 

In this room, I upcycled and repurposed a second-hand chimney breast to create a focal point that felt as though it had always belonged there. Not only did it give new life to an existing piece of furniture, but it also brought structure, character and visual weight to the space. The room finally feels grounded, cohesive and intentional.
