We are a small plant nursery tucked away five minutes from the town centre of Wirksworth situated in a recently renovated walled garden and orchard. Specialising in unusual perennials along with old cottage favourites and great performing shrubs all chosen for great performance and value for money. We offer a personal service, and with over twenty years experience we can advise on the best plants

suitable for your garden, always with an honest and sincere opinion. It really is a hidden gem, well worth a visit.

Hello everyone, I wanted to let you all know that sadly I won’t be able to make Christmas wreaths this year.

As some of you may know, I’ve been having a bit of a battle with my health, and right now I need to focus on looking after myself and my recovery.

I’ve been making wreaths since I was a teenager, so this will be the first time in more than forty years that I won’t be doing them. It’s something I love, but it does take a lot of work, and this year it’s simply more than I can manage. I’m hopeful that I’ll be back up to speed for next season.

Verbena Bampton - one of my favourite Verbena varieties, with bronze flushed foliage and small violet pink flowers. This unusual beauty will flower from June until October with little or no maintenance required. Drought tolerant (doing us proud in this weather!) and hardy. Height: 75cm. Spread: 1 metre.

In stock with lots of other beautiful hardy perennials. We’re loving it in our border with Salvia ‘Cool Cream’, Salvia ‘Nachtvlinder’ and Guara.

We’re open tomorrow (Saturday) 10am-4pm.

The plants are looking refreshed and thriving after some well needed rain. The bees, butterflies and other pollinators are out enjoying the sunshine and pollen today. We have lots of long flowering summer stars in stock; salvias, dahlias, verbenas, agapanthus, echinaceas to name a few.

Head down to Wirksworth today for the Farmers’ market and tomorrow for Antiques in the Street!

It’s the annual Wirksworth Open Gardens and Courtyards this weekend, happening tomorrow and Sunday 11:00-16:00.

The Wirksworth folks have been hard at work preparing their beautiful gardens to welcome gardening enthusiasts from near and far.

We’re on the trail with lots of hardy perennials grown here on site in Wirksworth.

Tickets are available at Green Gates, Coldwell Street, Marsdens’, and opposite the Memorial Gardens in front of Waltham House.

Looks like we might need to get the brollies out for today’s Farmers’ market. It’s about right for the beginning of June and definitely welcomed after such a dry spring.

It’s so great for getting those plants settled for some beautiful garden colour all summer long. We have some tried and tested hard working shrubs and perennials ready for planting so don’t forget to stop by if you’re visiting Wirksworth this weekend. Xx

It’s Wirksworth Well Dressings and Carnival this weekend.

We have a lovely selection of plants ready for your gardens, the weather has bought them on lovely.

The amazing grey poppys are starting to bud, and cosmos are in full bloom.

Welcome back sunshine, we are being spoilt with all this gorgeous weather. Everything in the nursery is growing like crazy, what a magical time of year.

It’s rhododendron season and we have in stock the stunning Golden Gate. A show stopper for sure.
We also have the scrumptious cosmos Apricotta now for sale. Xx

Beautiful Geum ‘Mai Tai’.

A beautiful one from the cocktail series, with apricot pink flushed semi double flowers. These clump forming perennials are a great addition to the spring garden.

We’re open this Easter weekend Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 11-3. Closed on Monday. 🌷

Just a little reminder that we’re reopening for the new season tomorrow - Saturday 12th.🌱

We’ve been busy sowing seeds, potting on, weeding, sweeping… and of course, doing lots of watering. The weather is definitely bringing everything on but dare I say the gardens need some nice warm April showers as well as the sunshine.

It’s such a glorious time of year, no matter what madness comes and goes we have the thrill of spring to revel in.

Look forward to seeing everyone and to have a catch up.

We’re opening for the season!

After a busy winter, we’re opening our doors tomorrow (Sunday, April 6th) for the Antiques in the Street event in Wirksworth.

The sunshine has been incredible lately, and so many of you have been asking when we’re opening—thank you 💛.

We’ll be back to our regular hours from Saturday, April 12th.

It will be amazing to see everyone, and revel in the wonders of spring at the new season 🌱.

Hi everyone, due to tomorrow’s forecasted weather we have been moved inside and will be selling our wreaths in the Maltings (listed as Emily Wreaths). It’s located between St Mary’s Church and the Heritage Centre. We’ll be there with other great stallholders more!
