Progress is being made on the Somerset project, everything is starting to take shape. All the duct and tray is complete and half of the units are piped up. By the end of the week we will have all the pipe work finished and will be waiting on walls and ceilings to be built in order to complete the work.

Sam and myself have been working for the Godfather of HVAC alongside Wayne and of getting the first fix done for some new offices in Somerset. Three days in and I think we've made good progress on the job. Most of the duct work is in for the heat recovery unit and all the tray and clips are up for our VRF system. It's been enjoyable so far, looking forward to getting units hung over the next couple of days 👊

Something a bit different. We took these two unit out of an Aquatic centre that relocated (see post from 2020 🥴) and have now installed them into a large space being used as a photographic studio. We weren't able to hang them from the ceiling so built frames for them to hang from instead.

Deep clean today on a wall mount split system that gets very dirty because it's serving a kennel. I got to try out my new wall mount cleaning bag which I'm very impressed with. I bought it through Amazon.com as opposed to the UK site as I often find when it comes to air conditioning equipment there is a larger selection and even with the shipping charge it works out cheaper than getting the same thing in the UK.

You win some and you lose some 🙃
Today was one of those days when nothing went to plan. What started as a system short on refrigerant has ended up becoming a system with mechanical failure that is not worth repairing. We were hoping to get this one back up and running today but it wasn't to be. I hate to dissapoint my customers but sometimes it can't be helped 🤷

Me and Sam installed 6 x 2.5kw MHI wall mount units at a local Dr's surgery linked to three 5kw multi-split condensers. The units are being used as replacements for their old electric heaters they have been using in the colder weather so hopefully they will see a dramatic change in their electricity bill over the winter months in future.

What should have been an easy days work turned into a 2 day job. I replaced an old faulty Sanyo system with a new MHI system. The Sanyo system was power to indoors so I had priced to run an additional cable to outside for the new system but also thought there was access to be able to do this. It turns out the original pipe work and cable had been installed and built around so I ended up having to cut 4 access panels into the partition walls and spend half a day trying to fish a cable through the void. You win some and you lose some in this game but I'm not taking it to heart as I have another 6 systems to install for this client so I will have plenty of opportunity to make my money back 👊👊

Probably the most awkward PCB swap I've ever had to do and all down to poor planning by the original installers of these...

Probably the most awkward PCB swap I've ever had to do and all down to poor planning by the original installers of these Daikin split systems. No access from above because the unit was so close to the condenser bracket above meant having to become a contortionist for the day. 🥴
New board installed and now just waiting on a fan motor to get the system back up and running 👊
