A simple vignette for a shady part of my garden. A few weeks ago, this same patch housed colchicums and a trillium but as their foliage dies back other plants await their turn.
The ever reliable ferns, Begonia evansiana, in leaf but due to flower shortly and will continue to perform until the first frost. Gently creeping around is Saxifraga stolonifera with its marbled leaves and spikes of airy flowers. Finally, still going strong is the immensely durable Luzula Nivea whose white shaggy flower heads stand above the other performers and are just beginning to fade.
All doing their bit to cover the soil and keep moisture locked in. 💚
