We’re gonna need a bigger brush.

Just a day trip to Oxford, but had to visit the Headington Shark on the way through. I remember going to see it in the 1990s… apparently it was installed 36 years ago. At the time the owner had to fight the council to keep it from being removed. The owners are still at odds with the council, but now because it’s been added to the Oxford Heritage Asset Register against their wishes.

Sorry for the selfie… I’m in my 50s and not well practiced.

It’s certainly feeling colder this morning and we are certainly looking forward to lighting the fire tonight.

If you need your chimney swept, please consider using Whistlers Sweep, from Woldingham.

If your cat is so cold it’s wrapped up under the hearth rug, consider lighting the fire… safely, after having the chimney swept, of course.

I do get to see some beautiful houses and a working fireplace is usually the focal point of the room. The owner of this stove agreed for me to share these pictures.

The area around a stove is purposefully constructed of non combustible materials within specific distances. Storing logs next to the stove in this space might save additional journeys to the log store, and looks great, but this presents a real fire hazard.

The hearth should be kept clear of any combustible materials. 😉👍🏻

Welcome to the Whistlers Sweep page! Get in touch if you need your chimney swept this Autumn. Oscar, the Sweep's cat, is delighted with the results after Dave swept the chimney over 'his' log burner earlier this season.
