I keep waiting for a week where I'm not completely floored by this club, and it still hasn't happened.

This week we were handed THREE brand new 3D printers. Two from 3iii Training, one from us here at Worksop 3D Workshop, along with a filament sponsorship from SUNLU on top of that.

I still can't quite believe it.

When you start something in a café with a handful of people and a couple of printers, you don't expect local businesses to start showing up with boxes of Bambu Lab 3D printers under their arms because they believe in what you're building. That's not something I take lightly, and I won't forget it.

On top of that, we had our first proper dive into AI this week, turning pictures into 3D models live in front of everyone, and welcomed a brilliant new guest, Grace, who brought her own illustrations along to share with the group.

None of this happens without the people who keep turning up week after week, and the businesses and organisations willing to back a little community project because they can see what it's becoming. Thank you, genuinely, to everyone involved.

3 Donated 3D printers, delivering designs and developing minds at the 3D Printing Club this Saturday!

Another Saturday, another one that leaves me a bit lost for words if I'm honest. This week we had Councillor Julie Leigh, Leader of Bassetlaw District Council, come and spend time with us and our members. Having someone in her position take a genuine interest in a small volunteer club like ours means more than I can really put into a caption. Thank you, Julie, for coming down and for the time you gave everyone.

Watching this club grow week to week still catches me off guard. Seeing kids build CyberBricks, families huddled round a print bed watching something come to life, someone absolutely made up because they won "Big Benchy", it's the whole reason I started this thing. I get to do what I love and share it with people who might never have had the chance otherwise, and that never stops feeling special.

To everyone who came down, volunteered, brought their kids, or just stuck their head in to see what the fuss was about: thank you. This club only works because people like you show up for it.

We're back Saturday 15th August, 10:30am-2pm, at Fusion Energy Café, Worksop. Free, no experience needed, everyone welcome.

I say this every week, and somehow it just keeps being true: this club fills my heart up in a way I didn't expect when we started.

Week 5 brought a new member into the fold, a live onsite print, our own LED signage lighting up the room, and another lovely turnout for the demo and raffle. Seeing this grow from a little idea into a room full of people who show up for each other, week after week, still catches me off guard. In the best way.

To everyone who's come along, brought a friend, printed something brilliant and slightly ridiculous, or just stayed for a cup of tea and a chat, thank you. Genuinely. This club is what it is because you keep turning up for it.

Super proud to be part of this, right here in Worksop!

Week 3 of our free 3D Printing Club in Worksop

This was another fantastic session, with live printing, slicer tuition, CAD design, 3D scanning, printer repairs and plenty of hands-on learning for people of all ages.

One of the most rewarding moments was seeing Harry receive the finished 3D print created from his scan the previous week. We also repaired his Bambu Lab A1 Mini, completed a successful test print and got him back up and running.

The day finished with a small raffle featuring a 3D printed vase and three capybaras, which proved extremely popular.

The club is designed to make 3D printing, CAD and STEM activities accessible to complete beginners, families, young people and neurodiverse makers. No equipment or previous experience is required.

Next week we are moving into remote-control robots and electronics, with more practical STEM activities alongside the usual printing and design demonstrations.

It has been brilliant to see how quickly the club is growing, and hopefully it may inspire similar community-led sessions elsewhere in the UK.

The new 3D Printing Club starts today at the Fusion Energy Café in Worksop.

It’s a free, friendly drop-in session for anyone interested in 3D printing, scanning or CAD, whether they’re completely new to it or already involved in the hobby.

We’ll have live printers running, 3D scanning demonstrations and beginner-friendly design activities, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share ideas and meet other makers.

It runs today from 10:30am until 2:30pm at:

No equipment or previous experience is needed. Anyone within travelling distance is very welcome to call in and see what we’re hoping to build here in Worksop.
